It has felt strange to post anything these days in the midst of all that's going on in our world and country. I want you all to know that any type of regular posting that I do is not meant to replace the urgency of the work we all need to do to make this world a better and safe place for everyone. The last thing I want to do is come across as disrespectful or self-centered as I share my business.

Thank you to all of you fighting and speaking up for change. Please continue to do so, even when it seems like others aren't. I know I need you. I don't know what to say or do at times, but I am willing to unlearn. I think that is, in some ways, the highest form of learning.

“We have our ups and downs... this school-at-home has been a little bit of a challenge. You know, I became a teacher to be with kids and I’m not with my kids... but overall, we’re doing okay. We’ve heard others wondering and talking about how they think marriages are faring and we’re fine. We’re just so thankful to have each other... if we were alone, that would be a different story. It’s also really nice to have something to look forward to—the arrival of our son. He’s coming, quarantine or not and we are excited to meet him!”

FACETIME QUARANTINE SESSIONS with the Hsu-Carneys //

“When we found out we were pregnant, we never would have imagined that our little Rae would be born during a pandemic. At the beginning, staying at home wasn’t actually too different than how we planned to spend our time; just us with baby, recovering, and getting settled into our new life. But now as a month has gone by, our parents have yet to hold her and it’s been hard sharing her with them through the window. We’re sad that friends and family have already missed out on her newborn phase. But even through all of this, we’re cherishing our time together as a family, becoming closer, and watching Rae grow. Rae was always going to be our priority, quarantine or not. We’re also beyond thankful for the friends and family we have, who have gone out of their way to care for us. We can’t wait for social distancing to be over so Rae can meet all of the amazing people in our lives in person.”

We’re so much more intentional about spending time together as a family, alone, and with our friends and community. It’s also been so precious to spend these formative moments with Milo and we hope she remembers these slower days where we have nowhere to go but have transformed our home into so many new and fun spaces. So thankful to have our health, home and family and it’s really all we could ask for!”

FACETIME QUARANTINE SESSIONS w/ the MacEwen Family //

“This has been such a sweet time for our family! We moved into this long awaited rental just a few weeks before covid19 and all the stay at home orders. While there has been plenty of disappointment around these stay at home orders, school being cancelled and working from home, it’s mostly been a really lovely time of growing as a family. We’ve had lots of time to unpack, settle in and rest in our new space without interruption.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We’ve had the chance to get to know one another in a much deeper way - after 11 years of marriage this is the longest time we’ve spent together and it’s so fun! Our girls get to learn to play outside and we get the chance to teach them in a less structured, more play and inquisitive style and it’s so good to see who God has made them and what their interests and talents are. We miss our family and friends and life, but it’s been such a sweet time for us and I’m extremely grateful✨”
