About Us:

Scott is an electrical engineer (MSEE) and Julie is a counselor (MA LCPC LMFT). Scott has worked in the engineering field for over 25 years and his main fields of expertise are in hardware, firmware, and software. It's been quite a journey taking our concept from a dream to where we are today!

We finish our series of posts about the safety benefits of Solar Roadways with the most obvious one: Environmental Protection.

We invented Solar Road Panels to help the planet and in the process realized how many other safety benefits there would be as well.

The potential for massive clean energy generation comes from the virtually unlimited number of walking and driving surfaces which can now be utilized for solar collection.

Solar Road Panels can help protect our planet while modernizing transportation with Intelligent Infrastructure.

California is the 10th state to pass "balcony solar" or "plug-in solar" legislation, joining Utah, Maine, Virginia, Colorado, Maryland, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, and New Jersey.

Our polling showed much interest in Solar Roadways creating a plug and play system for a few Solar Road Panels to be used in this way on Driveways, Decks, Entryways, Walkways or Balconies.

Yet another safety benefit of Solar Roadways:

Many of you will remember our viral Solar Freakin' Roadways video's iconic question, "Scared of hitting moose?"

This feature is the one that will alert you if there is a moose around a bend... or other large animals, a log, a boulder or a disabled car.

Intelligent Infrastructure will enable communication and traffic management options that have been heretofore impossible.

Solar Road Panels will increase winter safety in snowy climates for both vehicles and pedestrians. Some have assumed that we have to set the temperature to be quite warm in order to prevent snow and ice accumulation. That will vary by climate, but in North Idaho we've been successfully keeping Solar Road Panels at 37 degrees, just a little above freezing.

How many lives can be saved and how many injuries can be prevented with this multi - featured Intelligent Infrastructure?

Continuing with our series on how Solar Roadways can increase safety:

The resilience that comes with a decentralized power source like Solar Roadways offers a level of safety that cannot be matched by centralized power, no matter if it's fossil fuels like a coal fired power station, nuclear site or clean energy sources like a giant solar array in the desert.

The 9 -11 anniversary reminded us all about how horrific a terrorist attack is - Solar Roadways cannot prevent such an attack but can help maintain the flow of energy so that an energy infrastructure attack does not plunge the country into darkness.

The applications for businesses and homeowners offer a way to move toward more energy independence during hurricanes and other disruptions.

Today, as we mark 25 years since the horrific attack on September 11th, we're spending some time watching footage of the many heroes from that fateful day. So many brave men and women showed themselves to be the best of us as they put others and our very nation before themselves. We honor them.

We're sending up prayers for family members left behind and those whose health was affected. We were able to visit the memorial a few years ago and what a solemn experience it is.

There are many safety features of Solar Road Panels, so we thought we'd showcase them one at a time.

Many people have trouble seeing the painted lines - especially at night, when it's raining and during snowy winters when they are sometimes completely covered with an obscuring layer of snow in spite of the hard work of plow truck drivers.

The dynamic nature of LEDs means that road lines can be changed by police or emergency workers to create instand detours and communication to increase both safety and convenience.

Parking lot configurations can be changed instantly to meet the needs of any business. Accessible and specialty parking will become simple and encourage businesses to support more varied options.... close parking for families with small children or anyone who doesn't qualify for accessible spaces but still benefits from increased safety.

The lit surface on sidewalks etc. may reduce crime and keep people safer on dark nights. Homeowners can instantly light up the panels all around their house to easily see who is approaching their home.

We are working to make the world both greener and safer.
