Sometimes, the person you're calling disrespectful is simply someone who has finally had enough of being disrespected. Sometimes, the person you're calling rude is someone who has spent so much time being patient, understanding, and forgiving until their patience finally ran out. And sometimes, the person you're blaming for the conflict is the same person who tried so hard to keep the peace until they couldn't anymore.
I have never disrespected anyone without a reason. I know my heart, and I know the kind of person I am. I can be one of the sweetest, kindest, and most genuine people you'll ever meet. But please don't mistake my kindness for weakness or my silence for permission to disrespect me.
If you've ever heard about me reacting differently or standing up for myself, understand that there is always another side to the story. I don't wake up choosing to disrespect people. But everyone has their limits, and sometimes people will push you until they meet a side of you they never expected.
I worked too hard to become the person I am today and I’m still learning everyday, to allow anyone to belittle me, disrespect me, or make me feel less than I am.
My journey hasn't been easy. I've been through struggles, sacrifices, disappointments, and situations that forced me to grow. I know I still have a long way to go, but when I look back at where I started, I can't help but thank God for how far He's brought me. I am not the same person I was years ago, and that's something I'm genuinely proud of.
And one thing about me? I don't measure people's worth by their money, status, position, achievements, or titles. You could have everything in this world and still lack the one thing money cannot buy: GOOD CHARACTER.
Respect isn't something you automatically deserve just because you have a title or think you're above everyone else. The way you treat people, especially those who have nothing to offer you, speaks louder than any accomplishment you could ever put beside your name.
It's honestly disappointing to see how some people become so full of themselves, so self-centered, and so consumed by their own importance that they forget how to treat others with basic decency.
Confidence is beautiful, but arrogance is ugly. Success is admirable, but looking down on others is not.
And you know what I genuinely wish? I wish more people had enough SELF-AWARENESS to recognize their own behavior and enough MATURITY to take ACCOUNTABILITY for the way they treat others.
Some people are so quick to point fingers at how someone reacted to them, but they never stop to question what they did to cause that reaction in the first place.
They focus so much on the words someone said out of frustration, the anger they expressed, or the way they finally stood up for themselves. But they conveniently forget the disrespect, the repeated provocations, the crossed boundaries, and everything that happened BEFORE that reaction.
They remember your reaction but conveniently forget their actions that led to it.
How can you be so concerned about how someone responded to you but have absolutely no interest in understanding WHY they responded that way?
How can you constantly see yourself as the victim of someone's reaction while refusing to acknowledge that your own behavior may have contributed to the situation?
Before you criticize someone's reaction, have the courage to examine your own actions.
And I'm not saying I'm perfect. I've had my own moments when I let my emotions get the best of me. I've reacted more than I should have, said things out of frustration, and handled situations in ways I wouldn't be proud of today.
But the difference is, I ACKNOWLEDGED IT. I LEARNED. I GREW.
That's what maturity is about. It's recognizing your flaws, taking accountability, and becoming a better version of yourself instead of constantly justifying your behavior.
Unfortunately, some people grow older without ever growing wiser. They gain titles, money, and achievements, but their attitude and character remain exactly where they were years ago.
Age doesn't guarantee maturity. Money doesn't buy class. A title doesn't make you superior. And success doesn't excuse a disrespectful attitude.
I will always choose kindness, humility, and respect. But I will also choose to protect my peace, establish boundaries, and stand up for myself when necessary.
I don't need to prove my worth to people who are determined to misunderstand me. God knows my heart, my intentions, and everything I've overcome to get here.
At the end of the day, I would rather be remembered for having a good heart and genuine character than for having a big name, a high position, or a successful life with an ugly attitude.
Because the greatest achievement isn't just how far you've made it in life. It's how much you've grown as a person without losing your humility along the way.
Stay humble. Stay grounded. Learn to take accountability. And never confuse someone's kindness with their inability to stand up for themselves.🤍
