So you got an email saying that you have a new lead – congratulations! Now, what?

🔥.Do your research- know who you are getting into contact with. Follow up on what kind of information you have on that potential client and what they are interested in you doing for them.

🔥.Good timing- Know when and when not to call a lead. Monday? - nope. That's the beginning of the week and they have a lot on their plate. Friday? - definitely not! That is the end of the week and they are ready to settle down for the weekend, not make a commitment. The BEST day to call a lead is Wednesday - the middle of the week.

🔥.Be persistent- If the lead doesn't answer the first time don't give up. Try try again. You can connect with up to 92% of your leads, by calling them up to six times. If you don't want to call them that much try emailing and texting them as well. That also raises your odds of getting in touch with them!

🔥.Be friendly and engaging- remember, the call is about what you can do for them.

What is the best day of the week to call your leads?

💥 Well lets start with the worst - Friday! 💥

Fridays are the worst day to contact leads because people are settling down for the weekend and aren't ready to make a commitment. They are just ready to head home and relax.

Mondays are a little better, people are in the mood for a business week, but they are just arriving back from the weekend and have a lot of stuff to get done. People are typically busy on Mondays.

🔥The best day of the week to call a lead is Wednesday - the middle of the week.🔥

People tend to be in the right mindset on Wednesday but aren't as busy as Mondays. If you are looking for the perfect day to contact your leads then Wednesday is it.

Go big or go home.

Most sales reps only speak to 27% of their leads.

You can't expect huge results by only speaking to a quarter of your leads. You need to be speaking to a much larger percentage of your leads if you hope to make outstanding sales.

It is important to make sure they qualify - but even talking to the ones you are not sure about can give you amazing results.

What is something you should never say to a lead?

Never ask a lead if they are available to talk. This question gives leads the perfect escape route from the call – they can easily say no and hang up the phone.

Keep it simple and use only direct statements at first. Make sure you start a conversation before asking questions. You want the lead's interest and attention.

Don't give the lead and easy way out of the conversation before you even introduce yourself and your business.

Why should I research a lead before I call them?

You should research a lead because not all consumers are the same.

You need to tailor your sales pitch to fit that certain individual.

You may end up turning a lead off if you say something that has no benefit to them personally or nothing to do with them.

Research your lead through social media, blogs they may have, or their website before giving them a call.

If you are trying to connect with families then it would not be beneficial to try to pitch a single man or women.

However, as I have said before calling every lead is beneficial. Even if you can't sell your product to a single individual you may be able to get a referral from them to someone you can sell to.

Knowing exactly what to say to a lead on the phone can be hard.

But, have you tried writing a script? 🤔 It doesn't need to be word for word. But it will help you prepare for the call ahead and plan for the reaction you want.

Every lead is an individual and that means that you won't always be able to follow the script exactly. But following the script word for word isn't the point of it. The point is so that you have an idea of what needs to be said.

This will make it easier for you to lead the conversation so you get the reaction you are hoping for.

: Always start off your phone conversation positively.

This may seem like common sense but you'd be surprised how many sales reps will talk about bad weather or how busy they are.

Always begin with a positive comment that kicks most sales calls off on the right foot.

By talking negatively your lead subconsciously associates those negative feeling with you and your business. No one wants to buy from someone they associate negativity with.

By keeping the conversation positive it keeps the lead feeling positive. Which is a plus for you when you are able to close the deal!

Branding yourself is not about sales. Sure it will get you leads and that's great. But it will do more then that. It will grow you as a knowledgeable, professional in your industry. Branding is about being authentic and bringing something to your customers no one else has.
