New studies have shown that 30% of phishing emails generate a click. 17% of malicious attachments get a download. No wonder we are seeing an increase in these types of spam emails, they are working. We are falling for it.
When dealing with email, always assume the worst.
Never click on any links in email. Ever.
If you get an email from Amazon regarding a purchase, don't click the link. Login to your Amazon account directly and check things out.
If you get an email from the IRS stating that something went wrong, do not click the link. Call the IRS and inquire.
If you get an email from your bank, stating that your money transfer failed. Don't click the link. Launch your web browser and type the address of your bank in directly.
