Happy new year! Heat waves have begun in the southern hemisphere, and we wish could offer a solution today. VersaCool is a startup based in the US, and it’s hard to gain interest when it’s winter here. Most people in the states want *more* heat right now.

As always, we’re looking for global entrepreneurs to help us deliver the world’s most efficient cooling solution. 😎

Update for potential licensees: We believe the patent will start being granted in individual countries as early as June of this year. This will make it easier to protect our manufacturing and sales partners. If the patent is granted, licensees will have a claim to being 3x more efficient than the closest competitors. Long-haul shipping operators, delivery drivers, warehouses, factories, outdoor vendors and security, construction sites, and farms can help their employees stay cool and comfortable, save on energy and square footage costs, and reach their carbon goals in environments where air conditioning isn’t available or simply doesn’t make sense.

Engineering samples will be available starting in October for furniture/automotive/wearable device manufacturers and DIYers. Two sizes:

20W model has up to 45W cooling capacity (10°F or 5°C drop in felt temperature). $160 USD + shipping from California

35W model has up to 90W cooling capacity (20°F or 10°C drop). $240 USD + shipping.

Both sizes come with 10ft (3m) tubing and a 12V pump. 12V power supply and water reservoir are not included, but we can offer recommendations based on the use case.

Prices reflect low volume.

After ~300 hours of use, the v0.3 cooling pad prototype has no noticeable structural damage. Cosmetic damage on the front surface will be reduced by using a higher rigidity foam in future versions.

The goal is to create a product with the durability and aesthetics to last at least 5000 hours or 10 summers, with an MSRP under $300 (USD).

As cities face blackouts in the middle of heat waves, VersaCool’s low-wattage, battery-powered cooling tech will help our customers be unaffected by outdated and inefficient power grids, their neighbors’ AC usage, and peak energy prices.
