BaleroGames

BaleroGames Balero Games is a tabletop gaming company from San Antonio, Texas. We create games for children and families and people who are new to tabletop gaming.

Balero Games was founded in 2014. Originally the games that will be housed under Balero Games were under another company, however due to the grown-up nature of the company name and games created by the parent company we found it necessary to create a company that would say San Antonio gaming for children and families and so Balero Games was born. A Balero is a Mexican term for the "ball-in-a-cup"

game but it is normally the version where you have the stick and a large, rounded block attached by a string and you attempt to hold the stick, swing the block up and have it land on the stick. The Balero is normally brightly painted and provides hours of fun, while improving dexterity and helping children learn how to deal with frustrations.

I have not updated my page in forever and I apologize for that. I am still very slowly working on game ideas. Roaches is still in the works. I paused my game designing to work on my teaching career and get my Master's degree. I won Teacher of the Year at my campus last year and I a 1 spring class and 2 summer classes away from getting my degree and then it's back to game design for me. I hope you are looking forward to family games to introduce young kids and new gamers to gaming and educational games that teach while you play. Keep watching because I'm on my way!!

It's always fun to look at trivia as the year wraps up to remind us of what happened before we move into a new year.

For some family fun, create a family trivia game about all of the things you did as a family. You can include facts about movies you saw, places you visited, games you played or even memorable meals you ate. To enhance their educational experience you can also add some questions about things they have learned in school or projects they've created.

Family trivia can be a fun way to recap the year and bring the family together. Enjoy.

Summer is in full swing and the kids may already be driving you crazy, so what can you do to keep them busy? You can play Roller Coaster!!!

In order to play roller coaster you will need a few supplies:

PVC pipe insulation (the hardware store will cut it in half for you)
Masking Tape
1 - small paper cup
1 - marble
1 - 3-sided Die
Chair (s) {Folding chairs work really well}

Roller Coaster is very easy to play. You simply have your child roll the three sided die and that is how many loops the roller coaster must have. Then they roll the die again and that is how many turns the roller coaster must have. (If you only have 6 sided dice at home you could have them toll the 6 sided die and have them split the number between the loops and turns, so they are doing math too.)

Once they know what to do they will flip the chair(s) over and can use the legs as a frame then they use the masking tape to tape the pipe insulation to the legs to create the loops and turns.

When the roller coaster is finished tape the small cup to the end of the roller coaster to catch the marble and then release the marble from the beginning portion of the roller coaster. If the marble falls out make adjustments and try again.

To assist your child with writing you can add a writing element at the end of the game by having them write a short story about the friends who got to try out the newest roller coaster created by the great (insert child's name here). Have them describe what the friends liked about the ride and what they wish had been better on the ride.

The Roaches are ready to battle and ready for some feedback, so let them know what you think of their game.
