I have been experiencing pain and passion watching the immigration crisis unfold....

I excuse myself too often as a busy mother from engaging in my political beliefs. However, as a child of an Korean immigrant and an Irish American, as a half-sister to a Mexican-Korean, as a mother of partially Indigenous-Americans, as a mother of a brown boy... as a friend, a neighbor, a curious heart and critic of Christian values, as someone who has been culturally disenfranchised, as someone who's first love was PR/Guamanian/Filipino, as someone who has had to climb the ladder of poverty in this country, as someone who struggles to hang onto her roots....

This is the first time I've ever used my platform politically-- but it's not about politics. It's about humanity.

I am in support of compassionate outcries-- we are all indigenous or immigrant descendants-- we all are impacted by the malicious scrutiny and violence occurring.

❤️The last quote on my slide is from the Bad Bunny half-time show, who brought me to tears with his brave performance. If anyone wants it in addition to booking, it will be free. Size and font can be changed.

These marks we make on our bodies are PERMANENT EXPRESSIONS OF CHARACTER-- they are stories and meaningful symbols to our progeny. These can be conversation starters and heart-openers. They can and do contribute to making waves in our belief systems.

Take time to hold, celebrate, call, and care for one another.

Brugmansia sauveolens "Trumpet Flower"

An extremely toxic, tropical evergreen shrub that produces brilliant hanging flowers that come in orange, white, yellow and purple..... Their scent carries across the night, attracting butterflies and hummingbirds to feast.

Intensely toxic such that ingestion or even contact with sap can cause hallucinations, confusion, cotton mouth, seizures, fever, and possibly coma or death.

I could see this beauty on the powerful fems I know.

👉Notes for the design:
-in my vintage botanical realism style
-darker leaves against lighter flowers
-Filigree could be either light or dark
-modifications can absolutely be made
-large discount for those who would like a huge piece as pictured (or similar) on the models
-color available as well

I little fun side project! I spray each cutting with sexy plant juice spray for health!

Selling each of these for $10 for thanksgiving gifts.

Each bouquet contains:

4" pumpkin jar with cork top
2 tradescantia zebrina "inchplant"/"wandering dude"**
3 Epipremnum aureum "jade pothos"
1 Epipremnum aureum "marble queen pothos" (low variegation*)
2 Philodendron hederaceum "heartleaf philodendron"

*The variegation can come back with more light and patience. I thought it could be a fun add-in experiment for a beginner plant lover.

**tradescantia zebrina grows great outdoors as well mid-spring to mid-fall, in containers or the ground. They grow huge FAST and are sparkly-gorgeous!

Much better than cut flowers! These plants are healthy and are all very easy to propagate and can thrive in ambient, well-lit rooms.

The cork top makes it easy to lift all of the cuttings and observe their roots at once.

I have tiny 3.5ml fertilizer bottles for $1 extra if you want to add it in. It only takes 1 drop/week to make your plant grow well.

Eventually, if you pot these plants once they develop roots that are 1" or longer, they can become lifelong friends to a home. A great way to say "thank you" to a friend or family member.

Recently, all of my photoshop files got lost. I've been feeling some sort of way about it-- spicier about technology at large and the losses that come to artist for the sake of efficiency.

But here's a file, a photo-composit that I heavy modified and drew over, that I still have a photo of. I love this design.

I used a stencil but forewent the reference so I could play around with the values. Of course, there's more to complete. But I'm really loving it.
