Stay informed🫵... This is the season of TX known as 'multiple ways to get injured outside'. Put water in your body, watch for water outside your body where it doesn't normally go, and check on your neighbors. Also, check on your neighhhh-bors. 🐴

In the examination of the 'wholeness' of someone who does disaster response for a living or passion, it is the opinion of ACF that "we can all be cool and groovy man". This is the name of our training plan actually, its about letting our teams flex different muscles. Flexing all your muscles is the best way to stay sharp and do your best work.
If you are interested in being part of Operation Cool and Groovy, and you want to inspire competition that actually makes us better instead of the other kind, reach out!

It is well within the political, social, financial, and spiritual guidelines put in place by our BoD that you be the greatest you can be. One might even say, be all that you can be. I think that slogan is taken though.

07/28/2026

We would also like to announce that we play well with others, and if you want to be on our team and on other teams, please do that. Be on all the teams. Please be advised that this is not a competition sport.

07/28/2026

We would like to announce that our team is fantastic. Any incidents that support this fact are completely sanctioned and should be reported to us immediately.

07/28/2026

If you are interested in training with communications, which could simply mean adding radios where there weren't any before, please reach out to us.
We are looking to build a training regimen, and we want it to be informed by real life. Sooo, we are looking for groups and teams who would like to flex their skills and try out what we built.
Mix up your training today!

After making some major adjustments to the mechanism by which Storm 1 gets where its going, we decided some fleet pics were needed. The front end used to be a pintel hitch, and Storm 1 had 4 points of contact (4 wheels) on the ground. This adjustment allows the front two tires to be spares, and the point of weight of the trailer design to meet the truck at its strongest point. Adding a goose neck lets us tow it faster, and get this piece of equipment where its needed without the stress of the other hitch system.

In a heat advisory, one of the dangers is not listening to your body. When doing outside projects while the sun is up, try setting timers to take breaks.
Just in our experience...
By the time your body gets your attention and you're 'feeling it'- it's about 30-40 minutes late from making a good recovery from the heat. Setting a timer reminds you to check in, get a drink, and maybe call it a day on the outside projects. Heat injuries feel terrible- and are inherently dangerous.
