“Special education is underfunded by billions.”

At a San Antonio town hall, gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa was asked what she would do as governor to better support Texas students with special needs.

Her answer focused on three priorities:
• Closing the special education funding gap.
• Paying teachers what they’re worth.
• Reducing class sizes while improving school safety.

But does Texas have a funding problem, a spending problem, or both?

The answer matters for every student, every parent and every taxpayer.

This is one of many conversations we’ll be examining throughout the 2026 campaign.

Clear direction matters.

On a fast-moving shoot, a photographer does not have time to overexplain every frame. Good instruction should be simple, direct, and easy for the model to feel immediately. A small adjustment said the right way can save time, keep the energy up, and make the shoot flow better.

“Turn slightly.”
“Relax the hands.”
“Chin down.”
“Hold that.”
“Give me one step forward.”

That kind of communication is not cold. It is efficient. And when done well, it builds trust because everyone knows where the shot is going.

In fashion, speed means nothing without clarity. The better your direction, the stronger the image and the smoother the set.

A look book is not just a pretty shoot.
It is a visual tool meant to present the clothing with clarity, consistency, and intention.

For photographers getting into fashion, one of the biggest lessons is this: your job is not just to make the model look good. Your job is to make sure the garment reads. The fit, silhouette, texture, movement, and details all need to come through in the frame.

A lot of newer shooters chase mood before clarity. But a strong look book gives the designer something usable, clean, and true to the collection.
