New tailor-made, hand-painted mural for the community room at 170 Cottage Street, an affordable housing development by The Neighborhood Developers. This one was made specifically with Chelsea’s Latin American community in mind, featuring a Salvadorian pupusa (accompanied by curtido and salsa roja), a Flor de Maga, and a Scarlet Macaw 🌺🦜🕰️ The clock in the bottom right corner is a classic model from the city’s very own Chelsea Clock Company, and the checkerboard pattern is in memory of the beloved Soldier’s Home water tower that was demolished in 2019. All of the letters of CHELSEA reference neighborhood food and cultural icons. Any guesses on what they are? Thank you to A Square Design for looping us in on this wonderful project!
