Wednesday night CodeBoxx hosted Golden Sparks at Spark Labs by ARK Invest, and the room was electric.

A huge thank you to Becca Brown for being a part of the event and asking great questions.

Brian Peret facilitated the conversation and did a fantastic job keeping it open. He didn’t lecture at the room — he pulled people into it. Questions from the audience shaped where the conversation went, which is exactly how it should work when we’re talking about a technology this big. The AI revolution isn’t something happening to our community. It’s something our community gets to participate in.

Raina DeJute served as our AI Prompter, working live on screen while the discussion unfolded. Watching her work side by side with the conversation made something click for a lot of people: the quality of what you get out of AI depends almost entirely on the quality of what you put in. Vague prompt, vague answer. Clear context and a clear goal, and suddenly the tool is actually useful.

That sparked the best dialogue of the night — not “what can AI do,” but “how do I ask for what I actually need?” We moved between Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude in real time, comparing how each one handled the same ask.

Our CEO Nicolas Genest had a lot of good insight to share with the audience. Even sharing the tools he uses for himself.

This morning, 11 new students logged into their very first CodeBoxx standup — the same daily ritual our entire community runs on. And just like that, 11 more people chose to bet on themselves and on tech.
