Sitting here wrestling between disappointment and the truth that God is good and His plans are perfect. Do you ever find yourself here? The knowledge that God is a God of hope and we can believe He works all things for good?

I think the hardest part of getting my hopes up is realizing where my hope needs to be anchored to begin with. I can have hope that God will answer my prayers, but is my hope in God or the thing/person I’m praying for?

So, on this Tuesday let’s let the God of hope full our disappointments, unanswered prayers, longings, and dreams with joy. Focusing on the One who holds all things together.

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” -Romans‬ ‭15:13‬ ‭

Spending this Saturday with coffee, wild pups, and little reminders from the Lord about hope. His timing is always perfect, and we get to walk into this weekend knowing that He sees us and He is always working. He is good and trustworthy.

Get Your Hopes Up.

I am always thinking worst case scenario, planning out how things are possibly going to go wrong. In my mind I think of this as helping me prepare, but in reality my therapist calls it catastrophizing 🤷🏼‍♀️

The reality is, we can’t control everything - as we have seen over the past 2 years. But I want to believe the best about people, I want to believe that the best years and memories are still ahead, and I want to get my hopes up.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”

We can get our hopes up because we have a God of hope.

Who else loves the new year? I absolutely hate New Years resolutions, but I love praying for God to give me a word for the year.

2021 was wild: moving states away from some of my closest friends, selling my first house, adjusting to living back in FL in the summer (🥵), buying my second home, doing home updates, making new friends/rekindling old friendships, traveling and the holidays. Whew! Busy and weird and wild.

The Lord was so faithful last year! I’m believing we will be able to find the good in the midst of this still crazy & stressful world. Let’s get our hopes up.
