Even more of a fun story, my cousin and I would make music videos and general skits with our dad’s camcorders. We got really into it and even went to film camp at the Art Institute of Dallas! One day we’ll get those really long VHS videos digital. Right ?!

Lunch box in the making! Yes, the material a stereo is made from does affect the sound. I like to say that every Bird has its own personality of sound. And I do a lot on the back end to make every one of these have a clean sound. It’s actually what I get compliments on most which is very validating. This one will be on the site on Friday and on the streets Saturday and Sunday 🥳

I’ve been building these 80s tackle box stereos probably since the beginning of Rare Bird. I do almost as much work on ones of these as a gas can, using wood on the bottom to counter weight the speakers then covering the rest of the inside with dampening. I also carve out the lip of the box so that the speakers sit flush and look like they belong. The speakers are also backed with wood so that we’re not just mounting to plastic. I always love the look and sound of these! He’ll be online this afternoon and 🤸
