Legit 3D Prints Using 3D printing to save money around the firehouse. I've had some interest from a couple of fire departments, so I made a page to showcase some of my work.

Looking for ideas to 3D print for the firehouse?

Here's a photo dump of the many things I've designed and/or printed for the firehouse. Many of these designs are available for free on Makerworld

Since the creation of this page I've managed to find many like-minded individuals, and we have created 2 groups where others share what all they've printed. If you like what you see, please check out these groups below

I've made tools, replacement parts, organizers, retirement gifts, brackets, and more. I've been able to show other what 3D printers can do for the fire service and have gotten many other firefighters involved and even helped show a neighboring town what they can do, which led to their department purchasing one

For those interested, I own a Bambu Labs P1S, and we bought an H2D for the department, which is my personal recommendation due to size and multiple print heads, which saves time on 2 color prints such as labels, name tags, and more. I design my stuff in Fusion 360, which is free to use.

My hope is that others can share this with their department to showcase the capabilities and use of 3D printing in the fire service to save money, improve efficiency, and create custom solutions to problems their department faces. Feel free to reach out if you have questions or want help getting one in your firehouse. It should be known that while there are many files online, it takes a special person who is willing to learn CAD to get the most out of the 3D printer and create custom solutions. Thankfully, there's a plethora of Fusion 360 videos online that can teach you what you want to know.

Raker Shore Jigs

I could not find commercial raker shore jigs or anything online of ones people have made, so I made my own. I have 4x4 and 6x6 45° and 30°/60° jigs. I labeled the 4x4 jigs with some information so you can hand them to the guy at the cut table, give him one measurement, and he can make everything. I came up with the modified speed square as well. I started with a pocket jig for 45°s, and then I made a full sized 7.25" modified speed square with accurate measurements. The purpose of this is to make 45°s super easy because it has your back cut, and you can flip it over to do the other side, and it still allows you to do a 30°/60° cut the old fashion way. These don't cost much and you don't have to buy lumber or cut your own. These will all fit on the smaller printers. The 6x6 jigs don't have a big edge on the one side, but the jig should be big enough that you can use the one side as a guide.

I tend to post stuff on my story a lot so figured I'd post some stuff I made recently. The hydraulic oil cap snapped off on the squad's extrication pump, so I made a vented oil cap. I added teeth to the door clip design per a request. I was asked to make replacement feet for the zoll monitors that are 2 years old and had 6/8 feet completely decimated. I made another radio holster, which if you read the descriptions of my radio holsters I walk you through how to trim the cupholder mounts to fit your vehicle right there in Bambu Studio. I also finished up the deck gun mounts for 2 of our rigs since the rotation lock strips out so easily. Now you can rest it in a craddle and it won't mess up the paint and swing around

Lastly, I have some Technical Rescue jigs I'm working on right now that I'm super excited about. I'll post some pictures and videos soon, and they'll be online as well.

I've designed 2 lead, 4 lead, and 6 lead cable organizers to help keep things tidy. They snap together and you can use a machine screw to keep them closed so they don't pop open. The 2 lead is an alternative to the V1-V6 Organizer so you can do a V1-V2 & and V3-V6 set up. All models are up on my makerworld

This was a print I did last year for the DC's car. I was able to utilize the computer mount holes in the Havis center console for dual wireless charging phone mounts, with a grommet to hide the wires. I've been told Havis saw it and was very interested in the design. Idk what that means but I had fun designing it. Every project has its own challenges, and coming up with unique solutions is apparently what I'm good at.
