Does your website still reflect the work you're actually doing, or is it stuck a few years in the past?

❇️ Your services have grown, but your website is still describing who you were a while ago.
❇️ Pages have been added one at a time for years, and now the whole thing feels stitched together with duct tape and good intentions.
❇️ It was built fast, without a plan for what came next, so every update feels like a headache coming on.
❇️ You hesitate before sending someone there because it doesn't capture the quality of what you actually do.

Your team didn't get into this work to fight with a website. They got into it because they care about the people on the other side of it.

And when your site doesn't reflect that, it costs you. Someone searching for help closes the tab because the site looks abandoned. A potential client or donor isn't sure you're still active. A referral second-guesses before they ever reach out.

Your website should work as hard as you and your team do. 🧡

You don't do what you do with the goal of retiring as soon as you can and buying a second home in Bali.

(Although we fully support a tropical vacation.)

You do what you do to make the world a little better.

And we're honored to help you tell that story — whether you're in the nonprofit world, health and wellness, or anywhere else doing the work.

Keep doing good things.

Vela Creative Co. began in 2019 with a simple idea and no formal plan. The name came from a constellation and the tradition of stars guiding navigators across open water. It symbolized direction, discovery, and the courage required to build something new.

As Vela grew, each project and each person added new layers to the story. The work revealed what felt aligned, what did not, and how the business wanted to evolve. Through that learning came stronger direction. Vela became more intentional, more people-centered, and more rooted in strategy.

Today, the studio stands in its next chapter with a stronger foundation and a team committed to thoughtful, lasting work. Vela helps brands find their direction through foundational clarity, brand-centered creativity, and strategic storytelling. The constellation that inspired the name remains a symbol of guidance and growth, reflecting the company Vela has become.

A lot of people hit a point where doing more just… stops working.
Cue overwhelmed teams and burnt out leaders. 🫠

You can post more, add more to your site, try to keep up, but it still feels clunky behind the scenes.

We see this a lot with businesses and nonprofits that have been around for a while.

Things have grown (which is a good problem),
but the brand and website haven’t really kept up with it.

So now everything takes a little more effort than it should.
Things don’t flow.
People don’t quite get it as quickly as they could.

It’s not a marketing problem.
It’s a foundation problem.

At some point, growth looks less like “add more”
and more like rebuilding to match where you’re at now.

If you’ve been feeling that lately, you’re not behind, you’re ready.

Schedule a discovery call with us today. 🙌

Last night at the AAF Black Hills American Advertising Awards, we took home a Gold ADDY and a Silver ADDY for Loam Yoga’s brand identity and logo design. 🏆

Branding has been at the core of our work since day one.

We’re incredibly grateful for the trust businesses and nonprofits place in us to shape something so foundational to their growth.

Loam Yoga is Rapid City’s oldest operating yoga studio, and it was an honor to help evolve a brand that already holds so much history in this community!

I’ve always loved the end of a year.

Wrapping up projects, spending time with family, letting things slow down for a minute.

January eases you back in.
But February is my favorite.

By February, the pressure to reinvent everything is gone. You’re back in your real rhythm. And that’s when the honest reflection happens.

We work with small business owners and nonprofit leaders at every stage. And no matter where you are, there’s always a moment where you have to pause and ask:

Is this actually working?
What needs to shift?
What am I avoiding?

INS
1️⃣ A clearly defined offer. No more blurring the lines.
2️⃣ Documented processes. If it lives in your head, it’s fragile.
3️⃣ Re-evaluating what’s working. Without making it dramatic.
4️⃣ Sustainable growth. Depth over constant expansion.
5️⃣ An annual plan we actually use.
6️⃣ Learning on quiet days. Sharpening the “boring stuff”.
7️⃣ Consistency. Even when nothing exciting is happening.

OUTS

1️⃣ Saying yes out of obligation.
2️⃣ Staying comfortable when it’s clearly time to stretch.
3️⃣ Making decisions based on how they’ll look online.
4️⃣ Trying to change everything at once.
5️⃣ Getting distracted by the next shiny thing.

What are you calling in or letting go of this year?

x Kelsey
