Welcome to my online business, Magical Doxie. This shop was inspired by my rescue dachshund, Willow. She is featured in the profile banner picture, looking very silly on her recent 5th birthday. I rescued her on Thanksgiving weekend in 2019. She was estimated to be 2 years old at the time and thought to have been born in early August. I arbitrarily celebrate her birthday on August 1 each year but also celebrate her gotcha day on November 29th. She is my third rescue dachshund, although the other two are no longer with me (Eliza, a breeder dog who was kept in a cage for 4 years before the breeder was busted and Mollie who came to me as a mostly blind senior because her medications had become too expensive). Willow and her mother were surrendered to a rescue operation when their people struggled through a contentious divorce. The dogs were going to be given to a kill shelter but instead, they ended up at a VA rescue. A percentage of sales of Magical Doxie items will be donated to dachshund rescues, especially those that take care of those dogs who are deemed unadoptable due to age or illness. As this business gets going, I will update this information.
Many items will feature dachshunds. However, I will be happy to create similar products for other breeds and even mixed breeds. You'll also find products that have nothing to do with dogs. One thing they will all have in common is that they will involve layered paper. Many items will be intended to be hung up as wall art. Some of my smaller items will be more suitable for your desk. And I will have several choices for greeting cards. I am able to customize many of these items, either with different colors, different dog names, and sometimes, different sizes. Just message me and ask if you have a request or a question.
You'll notice that none of the items pictured have prices on them. This site is so new that I have not yet gotten to that point, but I did want to get going as quickly as possible in case people were interested in purchasing any holiday gifts. I promise this will be updated within the next few days, as soon as I figure out the best way to ship items without risking damaging them. If you don't want to wait that long, again, please reach out to me and I will get you pricing information.
Willow is also looking forward to greeting you all. As an ongoing source of smiles and creativity, I hope to share my favorite photos of her and look forward to seeing pictures of your dogs, too. I have learned that no matter how bad my day might be going or how low I might feel, looking at doggie pictures always cheer me up.
So, thanks in advance for taking a look at Magical Doxie. I hope you like what you see.
Amy Ginsburg,
Willow's mom and Owner/Creator of Magical Doxie.
