I'm sure many of you have seen the story about the father who was reported for taking his daughters into an empty women's restroom.

Honestly, I think he did what any good dad would do—he put his daughters' safety first.

Not long ago, I helped a dad in a similar situation. It took me all of two seconds to make sure the little girl had a safe atmosphere.

So dads, if you need to take your little girl to the restroom and there isn't a family restroom available, find a mom like me. We'll gladly help, wait outside and make sure your daughter is given a safe experience.

A little kindness and common sense go a long way.

If you ever visit, make sure you see it after dark. The monuments and city lights are incredible.

I’ll admit, I was a little surprised by how safe I felt. I’ve heard so many stories about DC being scary or unsafe at night, but that wasn’t my experience at all. Not once did I feel uncomfortable or worried while we were out exploring.

It was definitely one of my favorite parts of the trip.

✨️Tell me I'm not the only one who's accidentally wandered somewhere they definitely weren't supposed to be! 🤷‍♀️

🇺🇸We were minding our own business, touring the Library of Congress. My ACL tear was acting up, so we borrowed a wheelchair for my husband to push me around in.

The staff who checked it out told us to go to the top floor first and work our way down. So we hopped on the elevator and headed up.

When the doors opened, several professional (and nice) people held the door for us. One even attempted to use his key card to let us through.

That's when I started getting suspicious. 🤔

I asked, "Are y'all sure we're supposed to be here?"

After a few questions, a very important-looking gentleman kindly informed us that we were, in fact, NOT supposed to be there. 😆

The view was nice, though!

To make it even better, we ended up with a personal tour guide who told us she wasn't even allowed on that floor herself.

Oops. 😂
