This week's spotlight is on JS Buildworks , a business I had the opportunity to help build from the name up! 🔨

From creating a new business name, logo, and taglines to developing a cohesive look across social media, print materials, branded apparel, and a new website, this was a complete brand transformation!

✨ MAKE A SPLASH. MAKE AN IMPRESSION. MAKE A CONNECTION! ✨

Last night, I had the pleasure of attending Sip, Shop & Socialize at Throttle Car Club in Scarborough, surrounded by an incredible group of women-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and community supporters!

Even better, the evening brought everyone together to support Pittie Posse's Pet Pantry and help provide food for pets in need. 🐾💕

I LOVE events like this! The energy, the creativity, the connections—and seeing how different businesses bring their brands to life.

It also reminded me of something I share with my clients…

Your booth is more than just a table. It's your storefront for the day!

Whether you're attending a vendor fair, expo, conference, or community event, you have just a few seconds to catch someone's attention.

So how do you make people STOP, LOOK, and want to learn more?

✨ Make your branding recognizable. Your colors, logo, signage, and marketing materials should all tell the same story.

✨ Create visual interest. Add height, layers, textures, and creative displays that draw people in.

✨ Make your message clear. Can someone walking by immediately understand what you offer?

✨ Give people a reason to engage. A demonstration, sample, giveaway, or even a great conversation starter can make all the difference.

✨ Make it memorable. What will people remember about YOUR business after they leave?

Branding is so much more than a logo or a website.

It’s everywhere your business shows up: your business cards, social media, messaging, website, marketing materials…and even your event booth!

Today I’m sharing a behind-the-scenes look at a booth I designed for my client, Mindi Moran of Coastal Bodywork Co., for an upcoming event. 🤍

As Mindi continues to grow her business, we’ve been intentional about carrying her brand through every touchpoint, so whether someone finds her online, picks up her card, or meets her at an event, they experience the same Coastal Bodywork Co.

And THIS is why branding matters.

Are you a real estate agent—or do you know someone who is? 👋

What if you had a creative partner who could help your listings shine before they ever hit the market?

A house doesn’t get a second chance at a first impression.

This week, I had the opportunity to partner with real estate agent Ruth Rayburn Summers to help prepare a stunning three-story coastal Maine property just steps from the beach for market.

Four bedrooms. Three bathrooms. Spectacular views. A truly special home.

Behind every beautiful listing photo is a lot of work that buyers never see—editing, styling, rearranging, adding thoughtful details, and creating a space that allows people to imagine themselves living there.

As I sat on the beach today reflecting on this project, I realized how much I love being part of this process—the moment when a home’s potential comes to life.

This is why I’m excited to introduce Listing Prep + Design Services through DeMado Designs Co.

I’m not a traditional stager who simply brings in furniture and walks away. I partner with agents and homeowners to make listings market-ready—from the initial consultation and prep plan to styling with what you already own, sourcing key pieces when needed, preparing for photography, and helping bring the final vision together.

My goal is to provide a flexible, high-touch approach that helps agents showcase their listings beautifully while helping homeowners feel supported through one of life’s biggest transitions.

Because when the right team comes together, a house becomes more than a listing…

It becomes a place buyers can picture themselves calling home.

Today I had the pleasure of meeting up with our weekly group of powerhouse business owners at our TBD Connections coffee hour.

One of my favorite parts of these gatherings is learning what people do, who they serve, and how we can support one another.

This week's 'Marketing Minute' question I shared was:

"What's one thing you dread having to do every year?"

The overwhelming answer?

TAXES. 😅

Why? Because we worry we don't have everything organized, we're missing something important, or we might get audited.

That got me thinking...

One thing I've learned from working with small businesses over the years is that people don't always connect with perfect logos, fancy websites, or polished marketing.

They connect with people. 🥰

The businesses that stand out aren't always the biggest or the loudest. They're the ones that share their story, show their personality, and make it easy for others to understand who they are and how they help.

Whether you're posting on social media, updating your website, or networking in your community, don't be afraid to let people see the person behind the business.

Your story, your values, and your experience are often what make someone choose you over someone else.

A good brand isn't about looking like everyone else.

It's about being memorable because you're genuinely you.

This long weekend has me reflecting on what I’ve truly loved building with KD Designs - Creative Studio.

As I’ve grown my new brand and worked with business owners and homeowners, I’ve found so much joy in helping bring clarity, balance, and intention into both their spaces and their brands.

There’s something really powerful about simplifying things—whether it’s a home, a brand, or a message—and creating more room for what matters most.

And for me, that’s been time with my family. I'll be out of the office Friday-Sunday, walking the beach, at a BBQ + watching fireworks!
