IT'S FLIGHT DAY! ❤️🤍💙

The day we've been looking forward to is finally here!

While most of Southwest Florida is still sleeping, our veterans, guardians, and volunteers are up bright and early, ready for an unforgettable journey to Washington, D.C.!

Today is all about our veterans. It's a day to honor their service, remember their sacrifices, visit the memorials built in their honor, and share an experience that we hope they'll treasure for years to come.

To our veterans, today is YOUR day! We are incredibly grateful for your service, and it's our privilege to share this journey with you.

To our guardians and volunteers, thank you for the countless hours you've put into making this day possible. Now it's time to make some memories!

🇺🇸 Southwest Florida, we're taking your heroes to Washington! Help us wish everyone safe travels and a wonderful day!

❤️🤍💙 Follow along right here as we share moments from today's journey!

Rest In Peace...
Tech. Sgt. Ian Patterson of Fort Stewart, Georgia, was a 15-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force who served as a Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) instructor with the 6th Combat Training Squadron.

On October 17, 2026, Patterson was one of four service members participating in a pregame rappelling demonstration from the rafters of the Alamodome in San Antonio as part of the University of Texas at San Antonio’s annual Salute to Armed Forces and Veterans game against Navy; he fell roughly 150–170 feet in an uncontrolled descent, was treated on the field, and later died at a local hospital, prompting an investigation by the Air Force.

On Tuesday, November 10, we invite you to join us at Laishley Park in Punta Gorda for the Honor Walk, a special evening dedicated to remembering and honoring our nation's veterans.

As the sun sets over Charlotte Harbor, we'll gather for the playing of Taps, followed by a walk around the beautiful Healing Field of Honor, surrounded by 1,000 flags.

Bring your family. Walk in honor of someone you love. Take a moment to remember those who have served.

Hosted by the Punta Gorda Rotary and the Healing Field of Honor, this special event benefits Southwest Florida Honor Flight, helping us continue giving veterans the opportunity to visit their memorials in Washington, D.C.

🇺🇸 Every flag has a story. Eve

❤️ Concerned about the walking distance? Please don't let that keep you from joining us! We'll have a limited number of wheelchairs available on-site for those who may need a little assistance. We want everyone who wishes to participate to feel welcome.

The tragedy in Oregon has shown us exactly what happens when good men have the means and ability to act swiftly. Kaylub Giamanco did just that.

Driving home on his lunch break, he heard gunshots, saw the threat enter the elementary school where his own daughters attend, and moved without hesitation. Armed and ready, this father ran toward the danger, confronted the evil head on, and stopped it cold before police even arrived. He saved countless innocent lives in those critical seconds.

We thank this armed hero. In a world where evil strikes without warning, it is good men like Kaylub Giamanco who stand in the gap. May God bless him and every American willing to protect the innocent when it matters most. 💪🏽🫡🇺🇸
