The Trent House Association and Art Against Racism are partnering in “Freedoms Reframed: Art on the Edges of the Constitution,” an exhibition commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

On Sunday, June 28, 2026, several of the exhibitors will discuss how the project’s theme relates to their work. Facilitated by exhibition co-curator Rhinold Ponder, the discussion includes artists Terrance Cummings, a visual artist whose work aims to spark dialogue, deepen understanding, and create space
for empowerment and reflection.

Attendees are encouraged to view their work in the exhibition and enjoy light refreshments before the 2 pm program. Registration is not needed and admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted.

This is only one of many compelling and inspirational artworks and poetry in this exhibition. Opening reception will be Sunday June 14th from 3 to 5 pm and the exhibition will be open Wednesdays through Sundays from June 17th through July 26th or by appointment via email to [email protected].

A few weeks ago, we held our Art & Music event, and despite a bleak weather forecast — and plenty of rain — we decided to move forward. I helped organize the event, and I’m glad we did.

We came prepared with tents, music, and determination, and people still came out to support the artists and enjoy the day together. I’m incredibly thankful and proud of all the artists at The Art Station and the Hightstown Cultural Arts Commission for supporting the event and sticking it out with us.

Experiences like this remind me that there’s never a “perfect” time to do meaningful things. Sometimes you simply have to roll with the punches, adapt, and keep going.

One of my students captured this moment during a recent drawing class iI held in Princeton. I am grateful for the gesture—it reflects the shared energy, focus, and exchange that define the studio experience.
At its core, the class is about observation, process, and developing each artist’s individual voice.
