population, numbering approximately 314,000,000, there are roughly 22,000,000 veterans currently residing in the U.S as estimated by the U.S. Veterans, therefore, represent about 7% of the total population as a significant, and demographically definable, segment conforming to the same viewing habits as most Americans. The power of video to teach, inform, entertain and convince is undeniable, as is
its pervasive presence in American society. In this regard, CORTRON Media, LLC has committed itself to the development of a video and television network dedicated to the provision of educational,
informational and entertainment programming for military veterans of the United States of America and their families – Veterans Television Network and VTVN.tv. Our intention is to initiate a unique, binary approach to the provision of this network: traditional broadcast/cablecast; and, live/archived streaming on the Internet and mobile devices. In response to the controversy surrounding service provision to those who have served our country in the armed forces, we propose to provide an unbiased forum, whereby, all interested parties may discuss and address issues confronting veterans, as well as, the opportunities that are available to them. Thus, we hope to motivate both government and NGO’s to formulate creative solutions and new approaches to the provision of services. CORTRON Media further proposes to populate this network with:
Events or programs produced by or for any of the 22 VISN’s;
Programming and content provided by Veterans’ Service Organizations;
Informational programming produced in order to explain VA eligibility, programs and guidelines;
Educational and training programming featuring topical knowledge;
Original programming, including shows dedicated to news, politics, finances, forensics, sports, consumer electronics, science etc.;
Movies, documentaries, sporting events, dramas and sitcoms;
Live and/or recorded coverage of Veterans Affairs Committee meetings; and,
Live and Interactive, or recorded, Q&A sessions with VA Representatives and elected officials;
CORTRON Media is seeking the endorsement of Veterans groups, Veterans Service Organizations (VSO’s), companies, corporations, organizations and non-profit groups, as well as, veterans and interested individuals, for the concept of a television network operated for, and by, veterans.
