The night will feature presentations, engaging conversations, and opportunities to connect with fellow designers, students, and creative thinkers from across the Phoenix design community.

We have three incredible speakers:

Shireen Dooling. A visual science communicator whose work lives at the intersection of design, storytelling, and discovery. With degrees in both Graphic Design and Astrophysics from Arizona State University, she has spent nearly a decade translating highly technical concepts into compelling visual communication across academic, commercial, and government sectors.

Nicole Stumphauzer. For more than a decade, she has created design work across the entertainment industry, developing visual assets for major brand partnerships, live events, and on-air experiences. She currently serves as a Senior Designer at Paramount Skydance, specializing in branding, motion-forward graphics, and visual storytelling for large-scale entertainment audiences.

Marco Carcamo. The Lead Graphic Designer for Sun Devil Athletics, brings a dynamic blend of graphic design, art direction, and photography to sports and brand storytelling. Known for his versatility, strong visual instincts, and attention to detail, Marco has helped shape compelling creative work for a wide range of organizations and brands.

We’re excited to welcome Marco Carcamo to Type Thursday Phoenix on Thursday, May 28, at Dialog.

Marco is the Lead Graphic Designer for Sun Devil Athletics, bringing a dynamic blend of graphic design, art direction, and photography to sports and brand storytelling. Known for his versatility, strong visual instincts, and attention to detail, Marco has helped shape compelling creative work for a wide range of organizations and brands.

In addition to his work with Arizona State Athletics, his experience includes projects for the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Office of Tourism, Giant Food, STP, Armor All, United Food Bank, and more, creating impactful visual campaigns that connect with audiences across sports, retail, nonprofit, and commercial spaces.

For more than a decade, Nicole has created design work across the entertainment industry, developing visual assets for major brand partnerships, live events, and on-air experiences. She currently serves as a Senior Designer at Paramount Skydance, specializing in branding, motion-forward graphics, and visual storytelling for large-scale entertainment audiences.

Beyond her work in television and entertainment, Nicole also collaborates with creators and small businesses through freelance branding projects, creative direction, and YouTube thumbnail design, bringing strategic visual thinking to both corporate and independent creative spaces.

Shireen is a visual science communicator whose work lives at the intersection of design, storytelling, and discovery. Her work spans engineering, earth science, biology, climate research, and space exploration, including designing the 35th anniversary identity mark for the Hubble Space Telescope and leading the recent brand refresh for Star Catcher.

Here is a quick update with our Type Thursday Phoenix community.

Our April 23 event at Dialog will be postponed as we take a moment to reset and prepare for what’s next.

The good news is we’ll be back on Thursday, May 28, with a strong lineup and a renewed focus on bringing you the thoughtful critique, connection, and creative energy you’ve come to expect.

Jenn Monroy – With going on 20 years of design experience, Jenn spends her days as Associate Creative Director at AZ-based agency, LAVIDGE, and her nights grinding for small biz clients through ReJennerate Creative.

Javier “Spawk” Cordova – Spawk & Co is a multi-media design company founded by Javier “Spawk” Cordova, specializing in sign painting, pinstriping, graphic design, and public art.

Anaïs Cooper-Hackman – Anaïs is the Programming and Partnerships Director at RAY. Before joining the company, she worked as the Associate Director of HOT•BED, an art gallery, event venue, and artist studios in Philadelphia.

Megan Hershman – Megan Hershman is the Design Director at RAY. Prior to joining RAY, she was the Design Director at Common Living, a multifamily residential brand, where she led the design and ex*****on of a portfolio of over 10+ projects nationwide.
