The left rear headrest mechanism broke in my 2025 Dodge Ram Rebel. In stead of taking it in for warranty, I decided to just fix it myself.

This is just a show and tell example of what happens if your contactor point welds and holds one of the lines open, therefore only applying single phase power to the compressor. The compressor fails to start and just sits there pulling horrendous amounts of current to the windings that do have voltage applied as the internal protection opens and then resets to close and then opens again over the course of hours, maybe days or even weeks such as the case here because it was an unoccupied Warehouse.

Glendale, AZ got hammered like a hurricane for about 5 minutes.
The rain has been missing us for weeks except for a few sprinkles here and there. And then we get it all at once for about 5 minutes as it flows like a freaking river in the wind blows the rain sideways 😲

In this video I captured what a "wave clipped" circuit does with a triac to slow down a single phase fan motor. This is a common method on various low ambient fan motor speed controllers. Crude but somewhat effective.

This is a belated follow up video to my previous series where I experimented with controlling a triac with a microprocessor to skip entire half periods of the original 60Hz sine wave of the utility power to effectively slow down a single phase fan motor with a pseudo variable frequency.
In this video I captured what a "wave clipped" circuit does with a triac to slow down a single phase fan motor. This is a common method on various low ambient fan motor speed controllers. Crude but somewhat effective.
