My rendition of Malagueña Selarosa, My mother used to sing this song for years and years and years. She was even on San Franciso public television back in the 1970s singing it and I’ve always loved this song. And I’ve always wanted to learn how to play it…so I finally did. The song definitely hits me personally in many ways, not just because it reminds me so much of my childhood, but also it’s a song about unrequited love. A man who is so deeply in love, but unfortunately, no matter how much pours his heart and soul into the object of his affection, she ultimately rejects him. Very brutal reality, but amidst all the pain, beautiful art and music can come to life, making the suffering far more tolerable than it would had otherwise been.

Oldie but a goodie. I wrote the song back in 2012ish and it has consistently been my favorite heartbreak song in my repertoire of sad sappy songs on the Accordion. Enjoy!

This is one of my favorite songs from the Brazilian 60s by Roberto Carlos. This song has gotten me through a lot of hard times throughout the years. It’s just such a great song all around. Great chord progression, great lyrics, and great delivery from Roberto. I love covering the song whenever I get a chance, especially during times of emotional turmoil. “Jesus Wept.” This illustration that I made is the first work of art I’ve done in direct homage to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It encompasses His first miracle of turning water into wine, his pain and suffering, the trials and tribulations of his followers in the Sea of Galilee, and the Holy Spirit coming down from Heaven to provide us with guidance and hope. I’m frankly going through one of the darkest chapters of my life right now and the only thing holding me together is my faith in God. It only seems right to share this illustration right now as it helps to provide me with light in a sea of darkness.
