We're opening early access for Crank - a simple tool built for bookkeeping, accounting, and tax firms that are tired of chasing clients for missing documents.

If you’ve ever had to send the same “just following up” email over and over for bank statements, receipts, payroll reports, tax docs, approvals, or client answers, Crank is being built for that.

The goal is simple:

Help firms request what they need, track what is still missing, and automatically follow up with clients without turning the process into another complicated practice-management system.

Crank is especially useful for:

- Bookkeepers handling monthly close
- Accounting firms collecting recurring client documents
- Tax preparers chasing files before deadlines
- Small firms that already use portals but still manage follow-ups manually

I’m looking for a small group of early users who are willing to test it, give honest feedback, and help shape the product.

Early access is free while I’m validating the workflow.

Or comment Crank and I’ll send you the link.

Crank helps bookkeeping and accounting firms request client documents, automate reminders, review uploads, communicate with clients, and keep every engagement moving.

Microsoft 365 vs Google Workspace: a plain-English comparison.

Both platforms cover the same core needs: business email, shared file storage, video meetings, and document editing. The right choice depends on how your team already works.
Choose Microsoft 365 if:
• Your team relies heavily on Excel or Word with complex formatting - the desktop apps are still more capable than browser versions for advanced work
• You're in an industry with compliance requirements (accounting, insurance) and want advanced security controls built in
• Your office runs Windows and you want tight integration with device management tools like Intune
Choose Google Workspace if:
• Your team works primarily in a browser and values fast, real-time document collaboration
• You want predictable, simpler pricing - Google's AI features (Gemini) are included in the subscription; Microsoft's Copilot costs an additional $30 per user per month on top of the base plan
• Setup and ongoing administration need to be lightweight
On pricing, both platforms start at $6–$7 per user per month at entry tier and top out around $22 per user for full-featured plans. Both include over 99% uptime guarantees.
According to a 2025 Sonary comparison, Google Workspace holds roughly 50% of the productivity suite market versus Microsoft 365's 45%. For small businesses specifically, the practical question is usually simpler: which ecosystem is your team already living in? Build from where they are.
We set up and manage both platforms for Miami-area businesses - migrations, user management, security configuration, and ongoing administration.

What is managed IT support — and is it right for your business?

If you've heard the term “managed IT” and weren't sure what it actually covers, here's a straightforward breakdown.
Managed IT support means a provider monitors, maintains, and supports your technology for a flat monthly fee — rather than you calling someone only when something breaks. The idea is that most IT problems are preventable with the right maintenance, and fixing them proactively costs less than recovering from them.

What's typically included
• Remote helpdesk support: you call or message when something isn't working and get help quickly
• On-site visits: for hardware issues, new equipment setup, or anything that can't be resolved remotely
• 24/7 device monitoring: software running in the background that catches failing drives, missed updates, and unusual behavior before they become outages
• Patch management: your operating system and software get updated on a schedule, not whenever someone remembers
• Backup monitoring: confirming that backups ran and completed successfully

According to a 2026 Proton AG SMB Cybersecurity Report, a large percentage of small businesses have implemented some form of cybersecurity or IT protection — but many still struggle with consistency. The gap isn't usually tools; it's who's actually managing them day to day.

Is it right for your business?
Managed IT tends to make financial sense for businesses with 5–30 employees that don't have a full-time IT person on staff. Instead of paying unpredictable hourly rates when something breaks, you pay a fixed monthly amount that covers everything in scope — and someone is looking out for issues before they reach you.
If you're not sure what your current IT setup is actually costing you in lost time and reactive fixes, that's often a good starting point for the conversation.
