Geekmatics is hiring. Job Title: Field IT & On-Site Support Technician
Are you a tech who loves solving problems in the real world?
Geekmatics is seeking a highly reliable, professional Field Technician to be our primary point of contact for on-site services. This is a strictly on-site role—you won’t be tethered to a workbench. Instead, you’ll be out in the community, helping residential and business clients get their tech back on track.
The Mission:
• On-Site Troubleshooting: Traveling to local customers to diagnose and fix PC/Mac issues, software glitches, and hardware failures.
• Networking & Connectivity: Setting up Wi-Fi networks, mesh systems, and resolving complex connectivity or signal issues.
• Client Consulting: Evaluating a customer’s setup, providing clear estimates, and explaining technical solutions in plain English.
• Process Management: Real-time ticket updates via our POS and maintaining strict adherence to Geekmatics’ service standards and procedures.
What We’re Looking For:
• The "Generalist" Mastery: A solid grasp of both Windows/macOS and a deep understanding of home/small business networking.
• Unshakeable Reliability: Since you’ll be working independently in the field, we need someone who is punctual, follows SOPs to the letter, and represents the brand professionally.
• Communication: Excellent people skills—you are the face of Geekmatics.
• The Essentials: * Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
o Must live within 30 minutes of Palm Harbor/Geekmatics.
