On Oct. 3, our brother, Ontario firefighter Javan Settles, was honored at the California Firefighters Memorial in Sacramento. His name is now engraved on the memorial wall. 👨‍🚒🤍🕊️

To our Local 1430 family, Javan was a friend, a dedicated firefighter and a proud father who spoke often about his two daughters. We carry his memory with us and stand beside his loved ones as we honor him and California’s fallen firefighters.

Forever our brother. Never forgotten.

🚘 🍔 👋 Classic cars, a busy grill and a lot of familiar faces — Local 1430 was out on Euclid Avenue last month for Ontario’s Route 66 Cruisin’ Reunion.

Ontario Fire Explorers helped cook at our trailer while we caught up with neighbors throughout the day. Thanks to everyone who stopped by!

🚑 Starting at midnight tonight, Oct. 1, Ontario firefighters will begin providing ambulance transport services in Ontario and surrounding communities through a partnership with CONFIRE EMS & Mobile Health.

Two Ontario Fire Department advanced life support ambulances, based at Stations 6 and 7, will join CONFIRE’s regional system. The partnership is designed to strengthen coordination between dispatchers, firefighters and ambulance crews, supporting patient care from the emergency call through hospital transport.

For residents, calling for emergency help stays the same: dial 911, and dispatchers will send the appropriate resources. 🚒🤝

You might spot yourself in this one, Ontario. 🎥👋

Here’s a look back at last weekend’s Route 66 Cruisin’ Reunion with Local 1430. We had burgers on the grill, kids checking out the vintage fire truck and neighbors stopping by throughout the day.

It’s always good to connect with our members and the people we serve.

As we approach the upcoming election, the Ontario Professional Firefighters want to be unequivocally clear: We are not endorsing any candidate in this election.

This is a deliberate decision by our organization. We have strong working relationships with several candidates and believe there are individuals in this race who would bring tremendous value to the future of Ontario.

Each candidate brings something different to the table. But in this election, we will not be choosing sides.

We trust the citizens of Ontario to educate themselves, consider the candidates and their visions, and decide who they believe best represents the future of our community.

Once the election is over, we will respect the outcome and look forward to working with whoever the citizens choose. We will continue advocating for our members, for public safety, and for the community we are proud to serve.

Thank you to everyone who participates and exercises their right to vote.

🤝 🚒 Mutual-aid deployments are an opportunity to put experience to work — and continue building it.

While assigned to the Timber Fire in the Big Sur area last month, Ontario firefighters worked alongside crews from across the region and completed technical-rescue training with personnel from Rialto, Rancho Cucamonga, Corona, Colton, Loma Linda and Merced. Training included anchor systems, victim-access scenarios, rescuer lowering and rescuer/victim hauling evolutions.

Thank you to the Merced County Fire Department for the training opportunity. These deployments strengthen technical proficiency, build familiarity between agencies and prepare our members to operate effectively together when the next incident demands it.

This morning, Ontario firefighters joined the community for a 9/11 Moment of Silence Ceremony, honoring the nearly 3,000 lives lost and the first responders who answered the call on Sept. 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, the fire service continues to honor their sacrifice through remembrance, service and a commitment to never forget.
