I would never have believed that there are crafts that I know nothing about! But making flowers from crepe paper is lots of fun. I'm not giving up quilting. I have several stacks of fabric ready to go! I'm making flower arrangements for gifts in the year to come. Here are pictures of an arrangement of parrot tulips and magnolia blossoms. I'm starting a basket of hydrangeas. I included a photo of my table and about ⅓ of the blossoms needed for a complete hydrangea.blossom.

I have enjoyed making crepe paper flowers. This is not a quick craft project. Each flower takes 6 or more hours to make, but they are so nice when done. There are three different irisis, 4 peonies (3 different kinds) and one parrot tulip. I think it needs one more tulip. Then I want to make some branches of apple blossoms and maybe a swag of wysteria. Or a bunch of sunflowers, or an arrangement of daffodils and regular tulips. Too many choices!!

A year ago I made these owl appliqués and then I couldn’t use them as planned, but this week inspiration struck and I made a growth chart. I like this better than the original plan!

This modern Dresden Plate quilt was made by "fussy cutting" diamonds from fabric printed in different prints. The background is flannel. It is large enough to cover the top of a Queen mattress.

I made a purse using one of my favorite fabric design, Effervescence. I used a rigid frame for the opening. It stays open and makes it easy to fish around inside.

PEGASUS DIAPER BAG

The pattern for the bag comes from Amy Butler. The Pegasus fabric is from Ann Marie Horner's Fibs and Fables Collection in the Fire color palette. The fabric is called Helios.
I added pockets and additional straps to make it more suited to be both a diaper bag and a travel bag. It is a bit bigger than the standard diaper bag, but I see a lot of diaper bags stuffed beyond capacity. This bag is big enough to hold a blanket or two, lots of diapers and extra clothing and still zip closed.

Bag's Features
• Adjustable Shoulder Strap
• Adjustable Stroller Straps
Attach one strap to both sides of bag and over the stroller frame.
•Easy Access Exterior Cell Phone Pocket
• Interior Zip Pockets
One is big enough for a tablet or a big supply of diapers. Shallow pockets work well for binkies, lipstick and hand lotion or pens.
• Interior Bubble Pockets for secure storage and easy access.
• Two Zippered Wrist Pouches
Handy for snacks or a change of clothes.
Attach one to outside metal loop and use it for keys and personal items.
• One Rectangular Cube Bag
Put diaper changing supplies in here instead of in a zippered pocket so you can pull it out of the bag and set it on the changing table.
• Changing Pad with a Waterproof, Wipeable Side

I have made lots of quilts, but I only have one that I kept for me. That is going to change because I have 4 quilts in line that will be mine. I finished the string quilt that I'm calling "Ripples" a couple of weeks ago. Now I have finished the top of a quilt designed by Jen Kingwell using fabric she designed to make a modern Dresden Plate block. The triangle pieces are cut from the fabric that is printed with stripes of different dots divided by a narrow black line. I'm trying to decide how I want to quilt it. It is about 68" square.

The background for the blocks is an assortment of brushed cotton in dark grey stripes, checks, and plaids.

I have 2 great nephews who are close in age. One was born April 1, 2016 and the other born September 29, 2016. If you scan down a few posts, you'll see a tent with an owl theme That I made last winter for Finn's second birthday.

Luke's dad wanted a play house tall enough so he wouldn't bump his head. I made a panel of pockets and little stuffed animals inspired by the pond in their back yard. My nephew Ben made a frame from PVC and I made the cloth house that slips over the frame and a roof with quilted shingles.

Our nephew turned 2 last week. I made him a tent that fits over a card table. Since he loves owls, I devised a way to mount some square dowels covered with felt branches and leaves and three felt nests inside the tent. There are 3 owls made with fabric Yo-Yos, some baby owls, and some eggs.

I also made a panel with big pockets.

I was able to watch him as the boxes were opened, and he was excited about everything.
