I am having trouble putting my thoughts into words, I’ve thought this over the last couple of days, but it’s very personal. I’ve spoke about in the past that I’ve suffered from PCOS/PMOS for years. I’ve finally met with an OB who truly listened to me and went through my history and examined me and determined I also have endometriosis. This explains a lot.
What most people don’t see is my daily pain. Pain that keeps me up at night. Pain that stops me in my tracks. Pain that keeps me from enjoying life. Pain that requires me to bring a heating pad with me everywhere. I have one at work, on my couch, in my bed, even a specific one for traveling, because that’s all that seems to take the edge off. I’m pretty tough and I have a fairly high pain tolerance, I get by most days from sheer spite. But I’m exhausted. Life should be worth living and most days I’m just getting by.
I’ve made the decision to no longer live each day as a battle. August 10th I will be having a hysterectomy. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared.
Why am I telling the world? Well first off is to be fully transparent because people rely on me and my business. People have order expectations. I intend to honor all due dates as of right now. I am supposed to take two weeks off. I will start with one and go from there. My husband has agreed to wheel me around the shop if I feel up to working. I may just keep the store front to by appointment only during that time. That way I can just sit in my work space and complete orders.
I’m also sharing this to show support to all my fellow women who are suffering, often in silence, with these battles that no one understands unless they are in the trenches themselves. I want you to know you are not alone and do not give up finding a doctor who will truly listen to you. It took years for me, but I believe there is a light at the end of this long tunnel. 🩵
