Nintendo Switch Error Code 2101- 0001 caused by a mangled port, which shorted the M92T36, was revealed by one shorted capacitor and a test pad during diagnostics As usual, these days, it took multiple attempts to find a working replacement chip. It's a good day if half the chips in every M92T36 order I place these days are non faulty regardless of where I place my order.

This is probably the most straightforward Switch I've had in a while.
Lots of bent pins in the port resulted in the typical shorted M92T36 chip.
Actually, I found a good chip from my last order on the first try! One out of four isn't great, but at least there are some good ones in the lot.
Everything, including dock, tested out.
Back up and gaming.

No power prior repair attempt.
They attempted to change port, but it didn't solve the no power issue.
Diagnostics revealed a shorted PI3USB and a blown dual filter.
Removed the chip, and luckily, the short was relieved (the story in these cases is not always that rosey)
Replacement of the IC and filter solved the no power fault, but we still had a case where the console wasn't docking.
I replaced the IC again and still encountered the fault, so I decided to replace the port as it wasn't my work and was a variable I needed to eliminate.
Still, the issue persisted, so I tried another chip, which finally solved the issue.
Prior repair attempts combined with, at times, unreliable new parts can make repairs adventurous.
This is when experience shines.

3 completely non functional chips out of an order of 10 from a reputable distributor is not an acceptable ratio.
I just put a used one in this console and it worked.
Make it make sense.
If this continues Nintendo Switch's are just not going to be repairable beyond ports and connectors. (It's almost never just a port issue)

Bent LCD FPC pin
Dead fan
Wasn't sure it was ever going to run out of problems!
Eventually found and fixed them all and got the kiddos back to gaming.
