Every year we head into Redlands for the annual Christmas Parade. Patrice and I get there early and save places for our family and friends. With a couple of hours to blow, I usually take out my sketchbook and draw a picture of the big man himself. This year’s Santa is based on Edmund Gwen’s delightful portrayal in 1947’s Miracle on 34th Street. Merry Christmas!

Patrice and I visited The Old Court House in Saint Louis where Dred Scott sued his owners for freedom. Naturally I was compelled to draw this historical building. Three sketches down and I think I know how the final piece will look.

Had a great time at the Redlands Art Association’s Art in the park. I didn’t sell any originals, but I did sell a few prints and met a lot of great people.
