I couldn't resist - was a staple in my childhood television consumption, as I know it was for many of you too! It just fit TOO perfectly with this mural project for the Clarkson Public Library

"Choose Your Own Adventure" is a mural that hopefully inspires people of all ages to crack open a book and find out what awaits within the pages. Whether you enjoy mystery, adventure, fantasy, romantacy, science fiction, biographies, historical fiction, who-done-its, or even current events and politics - there is always a story waiting for you in your local library! It's a place for the whole family to find something catered to their tastes.
Head over to Clarkson, NE and view the mural on the back of the library. Who knows, maybe library cat Murphy will be there waiting!

Also, don't forget about audiobooks! Magazines! How Tos! Digital eBooks! Computer programs! Internet access! AND most importantly, a place for community!

COMPLETED! The first phase of this mural at the Clarkson Public Library is finished and it couldn’t have come out better!

I’m calling this one “Choose Your Own Adventure”

Books hold a special place in my heart and I’m an avid reader. So, I thought I’d give you my reading list from this project!
1. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone by J.K. Rowling (full-cast audiobook from Audible)
2. Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
3. The Return of the King by J. R. R. Tolkien
4. 1922 by Stephen King (this was July’s pick for the Dodge Library Book Club)
5. All the Dangerous Things by Stacy Willingham (I planned to start this one on the last day, but the book didn’t download correctly, so I started it on the ride home!!!)

Mark your calendars for SEPTEMBER 12 & 13 for the Rockbrook Village Art Fair in Omaha! This will be my second year at this wonderfully curated fair and I'm excited to debut a couple of new paintings!

ARTIST FEATURE: Jeanette Johnson will be exhibiting work at the 2026 Rockbrook Village Art Fair on September 12th & 13th in the Rockbrook Village Shopping Center. Jeanette, from Dodge, Nebraska, paints expressive landscapes of scenery throughout Nebraska using acrylic on canvas. She works from reference images or combines multiple references to create a unique setting that connects with viewers.

Put a calendar reminder on your phone today for September 12 from 10am-6pm and September 13 from 10am-5pm. Besides amazing art from 115 U.S. artists, there will be free admission, live music, free parking, tasty food and art activities.

I just started a new project in Clarkson at Clarkson Public Library! This mural will be completed in two phases with half done this summer and the remainder happening next year. This is SUPER exciting for me because I LOVE to read. I was actually listening to an audiobook as I worked on this lol.
I have had a lot of people ask me how I get the mural art up on the wall - today I'm giving you a demo of just one of my methods: a VR Headset! This method allows me to project the artwork in a virtual environment and an almost any scale. It does have its quirks, but when I'm not working with exact shapes and precise angles, it helps speed up the process considerably!

Things are about to get busy again!!! New mural underway in Clarkson at the Public Library! I used my Meta 3 VR headset to transfer the artwork today.
