Sometimes, things break.
As small business owner in addition to an artist, muralist, and designer, times get stressful, but they get better. They improve.
Take for instance this TEAR in my painting of Sig from last October. I was at an art event but the winds were steady at 30 mph and gusting around 50. It was TOOOO windy to comfortably display my art and I knew as soon as my weighted tent started sliding across the parking lot, that I had to break down and head home before the event even started.
Literally. I had JUST finished setting up my tent and hanging my work when a gust of wind slid my tent 3 feet. I had 55lbs of weight on each tent leg, and it still moved.
For my own sanity, I cut my losses and left. But not before a gust blew my precious Sig painting into a part of my tent that left a big dent and rip in the canvas!
BUT, I was able to patch it. Repair it. Repaint it. And now, that spot is barely noticeable unless you look for it. The rips and tears make it special.
