Barry Mitterhoff - Let me tell you about Rent-A-Grandson. For those of us born before the computer revolution, it is an enormous help. With the patience of a saint, Stephen went through the entire process of cleaning up and tuning up my computer. Much of the work was done over the phone so I can imagine how challenging it was to coach me through fixing my own computer. In a very short amount of time, my 5 yr. old laptop was working perfectly and faster than it has in years. Thanks Rent-A-Grandson

Today's tip: Lower the brightness on your phone at night if it does not do it automatically, looking at bright white light at night (say that ten times fast) may cause digital eye strain

Recently my iPhone was having problems charging. It's usually the charger, but not this time. Be sure to clean out the charge port at the bottom of your phone from time to time. Mine had lint in it!

I’ve enjoyed working with Barry Mitterhoff remotely. He has been patient and understanding. His computer was out of date and slow. After some creative problem solving, Barry’s computer is up to the latest software and much faster! I’m looking forward to continuing to assist and teach him to get the most out of his technology.

Tip of a day: If your phone keeps telling you that you are out of memory, put your photos online and delete the apps you don't need. Google Photos and shutterfly are good ways to easily upload your photos so you can access them from anywhere.

Tip of a day: be sure to keep your phone warm as temperatures drop. Phone batteries work overtime to keep the phone from getting cold so you’ll see the battery power go down precipitously.
