Coalesce NYC

Coalesce NYC Coalesce is a digital product agency that solves problems for businesses, brands, and brave souls wi Rooted in the heart of NYC, we are a diverse outfit.

With backgrounds ranging from art to ergonomics, our approach is often unorthodox and insight always unique. At the end of the day, we love telling a good story, putting it all together and the chance to make some noise. We are in the business of engagement. Emerging technology has unique potential to solve real problems, but if you can’t bridge the gap between man and machine, all you have is a p

roduct people will love to hate. Creating powerful engagement means building beyond the device and advocating for the user. We build for the human experience because digital is only part of our DNA.

“There are no straight lines in nature.”

We’ve always liked that Gaudí quote. Our partner Jordan says it constantly — usually mid-meeting, always out of nowhere. But it really fits us. Especially now.

Coalesce has grown organically over the last two decades — from a couple of Florida boys dragging cable through crawl spaces to a full-blown digital agency in Manhattan. Every twist and turn along the way helped shape the culture of the shop, expand our team, and hone our skills.

That evolution shaped us, but it also snuck up on us. It turns out that you don’t really feel yourself slowly growing up. You just wake up one day, look at yourself (or in this case, your agency’s website), and realize you’ve changed. We knew it was time to give that evolution shape.

We now operate across three distinct but tightly connected spaces:
Brand, Product, and Engineering.

2024 was a wild ride, but hey—that’s what we’re here for. Our clients and partners brought us some of their toughest challenges, and we loved every minute of solving them. Thank you for trusting us to handle the heat.

Here’s to more creativity, fewer fires, and plenty of wins in 2025.

Last night we put out the annual Coalesce Compliments & Complaints box. We are still taking submissions until 12/31 (note: these don’t have to be about us, so if you need to vent, let ‘er rip.) Swipe to see a sneak of some of our favorites.

Pulling off real “immersion” is incredibly hard. It takes teams of creatives. And the constraints are everything (we don’t have to mention the Glasgow W***y Wonka experience, do we?).

But if you choose the unexpected, know your audience really well, and execute your vision exceptionally, you can make even the smallest “immersive” project far more rewarding to fans (and you don’t have to run a full theme park for a decade to recoup your costs).

This is the story of the McGoblin burger truck. Link in bio for what we’re allowed to tell you about this epic marketing campaign we worked on this spring.

Our very own Tucker Margulies on Bad Ideas:

Last week we celebrated July 4th, which I like to think of as America’s best bad idea holiday. I spent it with my kids and my parents at their cabin in New Hampshire where you can buy fireworks from a run-down trailer. The fireworks are always sold as two-for-one, so the lowest number of fireworks you can purchase is divisible by two.

Lighting off trailer fireworks with my father is probably the exact thing that prepared me to pursue bad ideas.

Bad ideas can be the seeds of great stories and great memories. That is not to say that we do not need all the good and great ideas we can get our hands on. But an interesting and creative life can’t always wait for a good idea to present itself. Sometimes you have to follow the bad ones, too.

There are a few important rules:
1. Bad ideas should be approached with the utmost regard for safety.
2. They should bring enjoyment to everyone involved.
3. They are best undertaken with a spirit of wonder and enthusiasm.
4. The best time for a bad idea is whenever the hell you feel like it.

You can find more of Tucker’s bad ideas in a recent post on .

Had a blast creating the data strategy and interactive design for Nursegrid's 2023 recap (like a Spotify Wrapped for nurse schedules and shifts). We illustrated custom badges that aligned to detailed logic based on each user's specific schedule from the year. Hands down the best reactions on TikTok were around how many full moons each nurse worked (if you don't know, those are very superstitious evenings in the ER).

All that being said...what does your business want to build this year?
