SHE CALLED THEM BY LOVE

+ My admiration for flowers began before I understood why. I grew up watching my mother tend to them with a quiet devotion, watering, pruning, repositioning them toward the light, even speaking to them as though they could hear her. Perhaps they could. She taught me, without ever explaining it, that growth responds to attention; that what we care for has its own way of answering. Years later, I find myself still studying flowers. Not only for their beauty, but for the grace with which they become.
