Years ago, I took a leap of faith that completely changed my life.

I decided to step away from the familiar comfort zone of commercial production work and pour everything I had into a deeper calling: mentoring and educating the next generation.

These photos capture where that journey truly took root: our very first afterschool program.

Looking back at these moments, I still remember the mix of excitement and nervous energy walking into that room on day one. But the second we put tools into their hands, broke down creative storytelling, and watched their hesitation turn into quiet confidence, every ounce of doubt vanished. Seeing a young person realize, “I built this,” or “I created this,” is a feeling no commercial gig could ever replace.

That first cohort proved that when you give kids access, patience, and genuine belief in their potential, they rise beyond every expectation. They didn’t just learn skills; they discovered their voices, learned how to solve problems as a team, and taught me what real purpose looks like.
