I’ve been working on a series of USMC 03/MOS shirts, and this past Friday a Marine Tanker reached out and asked if I made custom designs.
He served with 2nd Tank Battalion and fought in Fallujah during Operation Phantom Fury.
I spent time researching the operation, the unit, and the details of the M1A1 so the design would be as accurate and respectful as possible. We went back and forth on a few details, and when I sent him the final version, his response honestly floored me.
He immediately bought two shirts and started sharing the design with his Tanker brothers.
I don’t care if those are the only two I ever sell.
What mattered to me was that he trusted me with a piece of his story, and that I was able to create something that honored the memory of his service, his brothers, and that operation—not just another shirt that glorified the violence of war.
That is exactly what I want this Black Series to stand for.
We commemorate the memory of service, not the violence of war.
