NOLA Broadband

NOLA Broadband Internet services to New Orleans and surrounding areas!

We love New Orleans – but let’s face facts: there are times where this city struggles to keep up with you. We deal with crumbling infrastructure, power outages, potholes, and boil water advisories on a regular basis. On top of that, we have become accustomed to the internet being “down.” Despite all of this, you still have work to do. NOLA Broadband does not use the same infrastructure as those bi

g Internet Service Providers (ISPs), and because of that, we won’t experience the same outages (excluding Natural Disasters or a Mad Max-style societal crumbling).

We are aware of the outage for wireless customers on the east bank. Fiber is up, router is up, just a switch has stopped responding. The secondary switch is up and if necessary we can transfer connections over. We are working on this issue presently.

edit: fixed in only 2 hours, fiber SFP had degraded to where the levels were too low.

Due to what seems to be a very close or possibly direct lightning strike, our Gentilly tower lost several sectors. We have replaced the switch and are getting and programming replacement gear to go up shortly, when it is safe to do so.

Give our new interactive coverage map a try. By default you can search for an address and click on your home or business and see what signal levels are projected to be 10 ft above your roof. You can adjust the slider in the lower left to see if more or less height is necessary. Click the little eye icon 👁‍🗨 to show the propagation heat map.

As always you can also email [email protected] or call 1-833-GET-NOLA (Local: 504-208-5432)

The satellite internet service imposes a 1Mbps speed cap for Priority customers who exceed their monthly data allotment. It's likely intended to get business customers to pay more.

This morning a radio on the tower started acting up. It seemed it was a cable issue, but then after some testing it seems to be a hardware issue. We are trying to navigate around the storms to climb and replace the radio and cable simultaneously, but they have been tricky. Rain when the forecast said no rain, no rain when the forecast said rain in the next 30 minutes.

We apologize for the issues in the past week. It seems when it rains, it pours.

We apologize for the delays for the customers on our St Roch sector, and will get the new radio and cable up as soon as it is safe to do so. (Unfortunately any rain is a problem when installing new equipment as the weatherproofing must be open.)

Happy Galentines day! We're repairing a fiber connection damaged by burglars. The backup is functioning less than optimally but we are focusing on fixing the primary fiber first.
