Font pairings aren't everyone's favorite, and you can easily lose an hour doom-scrolling Google Fonts for the perfect pair.

To help make that process easier, AWD launched a simple font pairings tool that helps you preview your font choices in sample website layouts on the fly.

Plus, as a bonus, I've included 8 of my favorite font pairing picks and what industries they're best for.

Take a look, bookmark it, use it — it's free!

Preview Google Fonts pairings in real website layouts. Choose your own fonts, or pick from one of Adam's top pairing picks, then grab the code to implement it.

Does your website pass minimum color contrast?

It’s a simple question, but the answer affects more people than you’d think, and contrast is only one piece of what makes a site accessible. Strong contrast, clear headings, and well-labeled forms make your site easier for everyone to use, and they’re the same improvements that help people using a keyboard or a screen reader.

We’ve added Accessibility Audits to our services, so you can find out where your site falls short and get a clear plan to fix it. Every audit includes hands-on testing by a certified specialist and a plain-English report.

See how it works:

Did you know, maketintsandshades.com has a Figma plugin?

This has been one of my favorite color tools for years, and now I can integrate it into my process, without ever leaving Figma.

I talk about it in more detail in a recent issue of Design to Dollars here: https://adamwrightdesign.com/newsletter/a-figma-plugin-i-didnt-know-existed/

If you've been reading for a while, you know the Tints & Shades Generator at maketintsandshades.com is one of my absolute favorite tools, and I use it every

Every project we design, we establish a color palette. But in order to know how those colors can be applied, we always check what combos pass proper contrast for accessibility.

We've used various tools over the years, but none of them were perfect, so we created our own!

Check out the Accessibility Contrast Grid tool — free to use for your own projects or test your own brand palette: https://contrastgrid.adamwrightdesign.com/

You can add as many colors as you want, view them as a grid or in pairings, filter by contrast score, and even share a link to the palette.

Design is what your website looks like. Development is what makes it actually function — the forms that submit correctly, the features that talk to your other tools, the details that make a site feel reliable instead of clunky. A beautiful site that doesn’t work right will always lose to a functional one, which is why we treat both as equally important.

Have you ever scrolled a website and thought, "that's AI… that's AI… yep, that too"?

AI tools can give you a pretty convincing first pass, and I get why so many people use them. The trouble is they all tend to reach for the same things, like pill-shaped labels, Playfair Display paired with a basic sans-serif, and that soft gradient blob behind the headline. So a lot of sites end up looking like the same site with a different logo.

I wrote up nine of the most common giveaways and what to do about each one, so your site actually looks like yours.

Playing around with AI web designs? Here are 9 issues that can hide behind a nice-looking mockup before you build, present, or send it over to a client.

As AI tools for creating websites become mainstream, it’s become easier and easier to spot an AI-built site.

A lot of sites built this way end up looking like the same site, just with a different logo and colors.

In a recent issue of Design to Dollars, I talk about some of these AI patterns to look for and how you can avoid them:

Most website owners think a care plan just means “someone’s watching in case something breaks.” In reality, most of the work happens where you never see it. Updates get applied before they cause conflicts. Backups run so a bad update never means lost work. Security scans catch small issues before they become expensive ones. The best maintenance work is the kind you never have to think about — which is exactly the point.

Ever notice how easy it is to use the same layout every time you design something? It's comfortable — it's "what works" — but it can also mean you're leaving better options on the table.

In the latest issue of Design to Dollars, I break down how the exact same content can look completely different depending on the layout you choose, with visual examples to show what I mean.

Check out the issue here:

You know the feeling: you're a couple hours into a page design, and that heading-copy-cards section is starting to look exactly like the  last  headin
