Just a little shop story from this week...
A customer supplied an Amazon clutch for us to install. Everything went together, but once it was back in, the car had no reverse. After all the work of pulling and reinstalling everything, the brand-new clutch turned out to be the problem.
Thankfully, this customer is a friend, and I had a good used OEM clutch with plenty of life left sitting on the shelf. We swapped it in, and everything worked perfectly.
This isn't meant to knock anyone for trying to save moneyβwe completely understand why people shop around. It's just a good reminder that the cheapest part isn't always the best value.
When we supply the parts, we can stand behind both the parts and the labor, and we know we're installing components we trust.
Sometimes letting your mechanic handle the parts selection saves time, money, and a whole lot of frustration in the long run. π§π
