I haven't been creating as much as I would like to, having to invest in new materials has it's pitfalls. I've realized I been getting back to the basics, with pen and pencil and paper. I need to let go of the fear of imperfection and just draw!

Beginning and In-Progress Shots of a Commissioned Portrait. This is a picture of a beautiful Mother and Grandmother; an outstanding back bone of the Collins-Sulmin family line, which I have been graced to paint to honor her before her passing.
I feel when I paint and begin a portrait It's always a learning experience. Taking the time to get every inch and detail just right . Staring deep into their souls captured by film, every step I am even more grateful to be able to capture this timeless beauty. Inbox if you would like a commission

10/20 " Untitled Black Girl" Using pencil, pen and white gel pen, I explored the female form in a very intimate way. I wanted to play with dramatic low lights and highlights. Unfortunately , there was no model - just my imagination and the unnamed muse you see here.
