My one word theme for 2025 is ✨ s t r e a m l i n e ✨ Hi friends! I know I haven’t posted in the last year so I’m not sure who will even see this 😂 While my professional calligraphy work has had to take a backseat to my full time work and family this year, the art form still serves as a creative outlet that I love and cherish ❤️

In many ways, I’ve been working on streamlining my life for a while now, but when I landed on this word for 2025 it felt particularly aligned with this moment. I was feeling drawn to words like “simplify” or “organize” to reflect my desire to get rid of clutter and make more space and efficiency in our lives, but I love a word rooted in movement! I spent a lot of my childhood on a swim team, and that first push off the wall, arms narrow over your head creating an arrow shape in the water, always felt like the best part of any lap. The moment where a minimal amount of effort allows you to experience the peace and joy of speed and forward motion, at the same time supported by the natural buoyancy of your body in the water. A good streamline can be the key to winning the rest of the race.

My 2024 theme was “savor”: being as fully present to moments with my family, the work I was enjoying doing, and the hobbies that sustained my sense of self, as possible. I want to continue this year to savor these moments, and to keep things simple, with an intention towards making moves that will lead to growth. Wishing you all calm waters in 2025! Happy New Year ✨

Hi friends! It's been a while since I posted here, but I have a question for parents of middle/high school students! I have had a few inquiries about teaching calligraphy classes this summer through flourish + frost creative, and I'm curious when this age group is ideally available during the SUMMER (can't fit nothin' more in my life during the school year 🤣).

Can you help me out? Even if you're not in my city/wouldn't be interested, when is your teenager free...?

weekday mornings
weekday early afternoon
weekend mornings
weekend mid-morning (like 12-2pm)

✨ s a v o r ✨

My one word theme for 2024 (a la Gretchen Rubin’s ). I love this word because it is most often associated with taste and I love food 🤤plus I am enraptured with the idea of being deeply present to a moment of delight, and wrapped up in an ephemeral experience of beauty. Side note: this is coincidentally also one of the things that I love most about dance and choreography!

So many of my one-word themes in past years have been about doing, and to me this word is just about being. It’s about appreciation…for the time, gifts, and fleeting nature of everyday life. I may be taking on fewer calligraphy commissions these days, but I’m going to relish each opportunity that much more.

Almost time to say goodbye to 2023 and welcome in a new year. Love looking back at the projects I’ve gotten to do this year and remembering connections made with my few but special clients!

Place cards that double as wedding favors 👩🏽‍🍳💋✨ Digital lettering in vinyl on double acrylic hexagons with pressed florals betwixt!! (also LOVE that I have a legitimate reason to use the word “betwixt”!)

So honored to create custom floral acrylic placecards for Jamie & J.Q.’s destination wedding in Italy this summer! They were the sweetest couple and put so much love and care into the design of their celebration. They choose a dreamy lavender and white color palette to match their wisteria, ivy, and Lily of the Valley floral design and I hand picked all the flowers for each guest’s place card favor 😍

This summer I had the pleasure of collaborating on many projects with watercolor artist 🎨🖌️

These two pieces that I’m lucky enough to keep in my home symbolize the special bond we formed, that went beyond just a professional transaction. Thank you Robin for the opportunity to collaborate, for the gift of your friendship, and I look forward to working to collaborating again! ❤️

As the school begins for my teaching job tomorrow, I’ve wrapped up my calligraphy work for the summer and will only be working on a few weddings that I’ve already committed to throughout this school year. Feeling very thankful for my calligraphy clients and looking forward to sharing projects from this summer as I find time to post them. Engaged folks starting to plan for your 2024 wedding? Invites should be sent out 6-8 weeks before the wedding, about 3 months ahead for a destination wedding. Save the dates can be up to a year ahead, so if you’re looking for coherent stationery and calligraphy, plan ahead! 👏🏽
