Figma just dropped their refreshed Friends of Figma brand — and we took it and made it our own. 🌴 Think Art Deco architecture, flamingos, alligators, tropical textures, and that unmistakable Miami color energy. Pure South Florida, through and through.
A massive shoutout to our Lead Volunteer Sharon Skillings for pouring her heart into bringing this Miami identity to life. This one’s for you! 🫶

This week is the week! 👏

We are hosting a hands-on Kiro workshop at the University of Miami and we’d love to see you there.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Senior Developer Advocate Stephen S. will be showing us Kiro, an AI-powered IDE that takes you from design spec to working feature. No engineering background required!

Here’s what the night looks like:
🔹 6:30 PM — Doors open, check-in & networking
🔹 7:00 PM — Welcome from Friends of Figma Miami & UM
🔹 7:15 PM — Kiro Workshop with Stephen Siegert

Still riding the energy from last week 💛

We had 50+ designers join us for Design it. Build it. Ship it. and Miami absolutely showed up.

Huge thank you to Dianne Alter for leading such an inspiring Vibe Design workshop and showing how ideas can move from concept → Figma → working code in real time. This is what the future of design looks like.

Grateful to the University of Miami School of Communication, especially Lorena and Kim, for hosting us, and to our amazing volunteers who helped make the night seamless.
