Lynn Police Memorial Page

The Lynn Police Memorial was erected in 1964 to honor those Officers who have given the ultimate sacrifice in serving the city of Lynn.

This coming year marks the 50th anniversary of the monuments dedication. In May of 2014, during National Police Week, the members of the LPRA intend to rededicate the memorial at a public ceremony to honor all those police officers who have served the city of Lynn. In doing so, the entire site located at Pine Grove Cemetery will be completely renovated to sufficiently reflect the honor, sacrifice

and commitment given by so many over the years. We have already broken ground at the site and several fund raising efforts will take place over the coming months to raise the money necessary to complete the project. We look forward to seeing you at the rededication ceremony this year and thank you for your support.

Flags were put up yesterday for the Memorial Day weekend. A time of Remembrance.

The LPD Memorial site looks great thanks to one of our own, Lt. Michael Kmiec and his Family. They landscaped the lot a couple of days ago and added mulch. Also, thanks to the City of Lynn for cutting the grass.

Thank you Retired Det. Grace McManus for donating and placing the wreath on the Memorial. It was placed there in December for the Christmas season. Also thank you to the unknown donor of the flowers by the flag poles.

Our apologies for not replacing the flags sooner, we had some technical issues that delayed it. For now, all three flags are up. One of the Lynn Police flags will be replaced soon.

It's been awhile since we posted, sorry about the iPhone picture, the camera was at home.

Noticed the flower beds had some additional flowers added to then, looks good. The pavers at the front of the memorial have been fixed. So it's looking good. Hope to have the flags replaced soon.

Happy 4th of July weekend and for our Brother's & Sister's in Blue, be safe this long, extended weekend.
