[PLEASE READ CAREFULLY & SHARE] Per regulations, ALL non-profits (501c3) organizations must file complete reports of all donations received and their top executive salaries [visit Salary.com or Glassdoor.com for CEOs of diabetes orgs].

Here’s a snapshot direct from JDRF.com of some of the funding they’ve received over the years from elilillyco, novonordisk vertexpharmaceuticals (Ddad of 2 T1ds is collaborating with Vertex for their *impractical* “cure” for stem cell replacement = immunosuppressants lifelong) and CVS (one of dozens of PBMs in America).

✴️ JDRF received over $26M just from 2/3 insulin mfts. When I have more time I can source Sanofi’s donation to just JDRF alone OR pls comment kindly below / dm links from *credible* resources only. I implore everyone to be diligent in their own research as well.

Other major NPOs that take up to MILLIONS *each* year from Big Pharma = Beyond Type 1 (so far no public reporting) and American Diabetes Association.

MAIN TAKEAWAYS
✳️We’re appreciative of all diabetes orgs research and resources they’re providing.

✳️At what point do we ask these NPOs, “How much money has swayed their advocacy efforts and CEO salaries over $300,000?”

✳️What legislations can Congress write and act soon so less greed determines the outcomes of millions of patients across the U.S? . .
🎄This holiday season, I ask all brand partners we’ve collaborated with in the past and hope to cont in the future, to please be mindful of which NPO you donate to (if any):
. .
I strongly encourage everyone to refer to and learn more about - the only large NPO that does not and will not take $$ from Big Pharma. That’s why they need all of our help. Hosting a Bday fundraiser for them tomorrow. So stick around! Mahalo! ☺️✊🏼💙

[PLS READ IN FULL] Hey guys, it’s honestly been the hardest two years of our lives ever out of the 5 1/2yrs Corals been living with . Yet, today is . We will always celebrate Sir Banting & his teams discovery of insulin, Corals 1st Covid shot while mourning the loss of our beloved Uncle back home on Oahu. A lot of stuff happened since Friday.

Know this: Advocacy takes hard work, research from *credible* resources, determination, sometimes certain people feel uncomfortable for *justified* reasons. To be able to speak out about corruption and greed and basic human rights. To create positive change for the good of ALL *humanity.* YES, this means sharing everything, the highs and lows and really bad times we go through IF we’re mentally able to further exhaust ourselves. Does this mean we’re “negative?” NO. Just neg for Covid 😉💪🏼💉💉💉😷

Keep speaking hard *truths* and join our fight for so we can make affordable insulin a reality for EVERYONE. Sir Banting would’ve wanted that for everyone. It was his gift to the world.

Banting, Macleod & Best sold the patent for $1 CAN dollar to the in 1921.

The scientists made it clear that their motivation was for the good of humanity rather than commercial profit [ehem.. ]. But in order to keep up with demand and produce insulin on a large scale, the University of Toronto signed nonexclusive licenses with medical companies such as , which went on to produce enough insulin for all of North America by 1923—a move that opened the doorway to the privatization and commercialization of insulin w/ . . .
Because of Banting and his team, millions of diabetics like Coral are alive and thriving. We are forever grateful for his discovery and will always continue advocating in our own way & time. ✊🏼💙 . .

NDAM Featured Post
We’d like to proudly introduce a fellow advocate, Dayna from Colorado! Swipe for her brief statement on cost & access to insulin. ➡️

“As Someone with Type 1 Diabetes, I know how it feels to be worried hour to hour, day to day if you can afford not only your insulin but also your pump supplies, sensors, pen needles etc. 1 in 4 people who take insulin, ration it. Insulin prices are 8 times higher. Educate. Advocate. Believe. Patients have the power to change and speak up.” - Dayna . .
This month, we’re featuring diabetics of any type and of all races. Especially those of indigenous cultures since it’s also Native American History Month!

We’d love to feature your story too! Just fill out the NDAM Feature form on Typeonediabetic-life.com and send a separate email with a clear portrait photo (links in bio). Apologies, but to keep from IG burnout again, email is best for this.

Mahalo and have a good glucose day! 💙 . .

Story Time! One of our previous T1d neighbors in his 60s was a big supporter & donator of . I asked him why? Their CEO (Rapp at the time) and all *major* diabetes orgs like Beyond Type 1 & American Diabetes Association - make over $700K a year and/OR take $$$ from Big Pharma . That’s more than 3 X what an endocrinologist makes in *Los Angeles.*

✳️Source: will link it in my Stories today or you can visit my Twitter at t1disabeach for direct sources (link in bio). 😉📚

He replied, “Why not? What does it matter how much the CEO makes?” Go to Glassdoor.com or Reddit and search “JDRF former employees” to catch on. Mind you, he ain’t BIPOC living in West LA.

Point is, we work really hard for our $$ to ensure we can pay our mortgage (first time home owners), afford insulin + diabetes supplies for Coral (NO CURE), care for our 2yr old non-D. Sacrificed cont to live on my home island of Oahu, HI and put aside my other small business. The list goes on…

There are so many reasons why we choose to with because they’re the only established NPO that will not ever take $$$ from . They listen and give us all the support & tools we need as advocates. If you’ve attended their Workshops and/or Chapter meetings, you know wassup. just be careful where you put your $$$ at too. See my highlights or prev posts. Mahalo and stay well. 🙏🏼💙☺️ . .
