6 years after founding LINE, it’s time to say goodbye.
What started as a small garage project eventually turned into a small business. We raised funds, we built a team, we figured out hardware, we shipped thousands of products. People loved it. We won awards.
We wanted to offer an alternative to commoditised plastic bricks.
We took consumer electronics to a next level with beautifully designed and sustainable products.
In January 2020, we moved our production facilities to Ukraine. A great move, as it would allow us to physically visit the factory between two outbrakes. This new setup offered flexibility, proximity and an unmatched level of quality.
Slowly, the pandemic tightened its grip on supply chains.
The world shifted from demand to supply. The odds would no longer favour the best products but simply the ones that could be produced.
Shipping costs, and most importantly electronic components saw an 800% price increase. Lead times on the other hand went from 3 months to a year and a half.
Then on the morning of February 24th began the violent Russian invasion of Ukraine, where part of our engineering team is based since the beginning of Linedock, and since 2020, our entire production facilities.
The unjustifiable aggression moved us. Greatly.
With no inventory left nor the possibility to manufacture, we can no longer pursue our mission.
It is with a very heavy heart that we have taken the difficult decision to put an end to the Linedock project.
We are grateful to have met and worked with such amazing people along the way.
To our incredible team in Ukraine, your resilience, determination and courage will forever inspire us.
To our management team and team members, for your undying dedication, excellence and professionalism along the way.
To all our suppliers and partners for sharing our vision and enthusiasm.
To our thousands of customers across the world for your trust, loyalty and understanding.
To our all our investors for believing in us, trusting us and for being such caring humans.
To all our friends.
To our parents and siblings for your undying love and active listening.
