Chase Design Group

Chase Design Group Bicoastal agency with offices in Los Angeles and New York. www.chasedesigngroup.com We work, everyday, to push our thinking higher and our designs farther.

At Chase, we believe that questions can liberate great ideas from the chains of assumption. We challenge each other and our clients to embrace the "why" and the "what if." We listen, learn, ask and engage - offering ideas and strengthening our understanding of goals and constraints. We believe that the best creative happens in an environment that celebrates the open exchange of thoughts and concep

ts. We cultivate that environment, working collaboratively on every project in close partnership with our clients. The spirit of partnership and collaboration keeps us learning, growing and constantly elevating the level of our work. We do this because we know that award-winning design doesn't happen by accident. It's the product of many minds working together. And it starts with a question. Just ask.

Amor Obscura Letterpressed Coaster Collection. (link below)... On Valentine’s Day we shared our curious love for the art of the unknown, unseen and unanswered with the design community through a limited edition creation. This creation was inspired by the passion and craft of Margo Chase, our founder and perpetual muse. Margo was strong, visionary and obsessed with elevating everything she did beyond the mundane. In her honor, we offer up this passion piece for all that seek the intangible and exquisite.

This limited edition collection of ten coasters explore some of the more curious aspects of typography and graphic design. Each coaster brings to life uncommon knowledge of its subject in hand drawn illustration and typography.

At Chase we pride ourselves on our rich history of hand-crafted design. For this project, our talented team went beyond the ordinary to create not only with their hands, but also their hearts. Designers from all three of our studios put pencil to paper to celebrate this labor we truly love.

The collection is letterpressed and silkscreened with a combination of embossing, debossing and foil – inviting you to explore the arcane with your eyes and your fingers. Keep them in the hand-assembled resting box or leave them out for all to envy. Enjoy them over a drink with friends or on a dark night by a glowing fire.

Since we shared our Amor Obscura collection many have asked where to purchase it. Truth is we made it as a client gift but we’d love to help. If you are interested in the potential of owning one of these works of passion please go to the link below and add your name to the list of design lovers.

31 years ago, when CDG first started, the graphic design industry was unabashedly male-dominated. Since then, women have made major strides in graphic design. Our team of 67% women is a testament to things changing for the better. Here’s how we celebrated our CDG Ladies for !

In film, it’s important for screenwriters and directors to pinpoint a target audience and make sure the story and the way it is told appeals to that demographic. They have to create a world in which a protagonist faces a challenge and overcomes conflict. Telling a brand story involves a similar process.

Ever wonder what Frozen and your brand story have in common? Our General Manager, John Tanner, breaks down how storytelling in film is akin to that in branding, and how brands like Mr. Clean are using their equity to keep consumers invested: http://www.mediapost.com/publications/article/279212/everyone-loves-a-brand-story.html

A tearful from our Executive Creative Director, Margo Chase:

"I was sad and shocked to hear the tragic news today. The death of Prince feels like the end of an era. In his honor I am posting a few examples of work I did for some of his early albums.
Designing for Prince was a crazy, wonderful ride. He's the only one who ever asked for illegible psychedelic lettering - in raspberry!
I will truly miss his talent and his style."

Our brand redesign for Mr. Clean featured on The Dieline blog today!

Although he has been in our homes since 1957, Mr. Clean’s significance as a brand icon has diminished over time. Co-brands and endorsements have come to dominate his packaging and a majority of the brand’s communications.

We’re excited to (very belatedly) welcome Kamilah Gibson to our New York team as Office Manager and Account Coordinator. In addition to keeping the office running smoothly and strategizing on new projects, Kamilah can be found onstage as a singer/songwriter and guitarist, pictured here at her gig last Friday at The Bitter End in Greenwich Village. We’re quite proud that our staff members are multi-talented in so many creative ways!
