Rev.IO came to DCAC with a simple problem. Move their very large, aging data center from an on-premises environment in a colocation facility to Microsoft Azure; to save them money on their IT costs while giving them the opportunity to improve performance, security and usability.

As the migration to Azure was completed some key metrics were achieved

Direct Care Innovations (DCI) came to DCAC looking to tune the performance of their Azure SQL DB database driven application. They knew that there were performance gains to be had, but they weren’t sure how to get those performance gains from the system.

After spending some time reviewing the system, identifying performance bottlenecks and resolving those pain points, the databases for DCI were able to be scaled down by a significant amount… to the tune of saving $40,000 per month in Azure SQL DB costs alone. The savings which DCI has only increased over time as their business has continued to grow.

As part of DCACs work with the Chapter 13 bankruptcy industry we’ve talked with several of the trustees who work in the bankruptcy field. These trustees work with the people who have files for bankruptcy, helping them navigate the Chapter 13 process. One of the trustees that we’ve worked with is from the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

When we started working with their team their servers were being hosted by a server hosting service. By moving this trustee to Microsoft Azure we were able to reduce their monthly costs by between up to 50% per month.

As part of the Microsoft we used Azure’s VDI solution, and Platform as a Service offerings for database and other storage needs. This includes being able to turn off most of these services at night and on the weekends when the users aren’t using the services to further reduce costs.
