This moment is all we have ✨

If you haven’t recently, be present on purpose.

✨ Enjoy your meal.

✨ Experience something new.

✨ Strike up a conversation.

✨Or better yet, simply be … and fall in love with who you are.

In a world of constant connection, infinite distraction, FOMO, and a never ending to-do list of things that might not need to get done, simply be present.

It’s the greatest gift you can give yourself,

✨ When you’re working, work.

✨ When you’re connecting, connect with intention.

✨When you’re resting, be at rest.

✨ When you’re with the ones you love, be fully there.

✨When you’re thinking of someone, call them.

✨And when you’re at dinner, enjoy your meal.

It will change the game, and life will be fuller because of it.

There was silence …

Not the uncomfortable kind… but the kind where curiosity lives.

I glanced up towards the drivers seat and could see my Uber driver was pondering what I had just said.

My thoughts differed greatly from the point of view he had expressed, and he was thinking deeply about my reply.

I continued my musings,

“I think it depends on what you do, what you want, and what you’re looking to accomplish … “

We were mid way through the “what do you do” discussion.

Rewind about 60 seconds:

I had just told him I’m a fine artist and without missing a beat he had said - “that’s a very difficult field to be in.”

I considered his point, but didn’t agree, and said so.

I believe that difficulty and ease both hinge on perspective… and when we change our perspective and seek opportunities and solutions, everything changes.

Back to the present.

The silence continued, so I went on:

“I realized early on that if I was going to be an artist … I was also going to have to learn to be a brilliant business woman as well… and that changed the game.”

“Correct.”

His response came quickly this time, accompanied by a nod that I noticed via the rear view.

I smiled.

Reflecting on how many people have expressed similar sentiments about the arts… and the “difficulty” of the industry when talking to me, it was cool to see the conversation shift from difficulty to possibility.

I looked up, curious to see what he would say next.

His response surprised me.

For a split second he look back at me in the rear view and said very matter of factly -

“Dynamite comes in small packages.”

He smiled behind his mask and nodded again, the type of nod that indicates you’ve made up your mind. A non verbal seal of approval.

I smiled too. Because he was right.

We are limitless in our potential.

And in the words of Steven “Stealth” Miller, “Don’t underestimate the power within you.”

Cheers to living a great story, pursuing your passions and becoming who you are meant to be, no more and no less.

And p.s.

Even if your dream is still small, when your results look small, or when you feel small… remember that dynamite comes in small packages.
